Toyota Highlander water pumps

Isn't 70,000 miles a little low to have to be replacing a water pump?

    Eight years old, time plays a factor as much as mileage does. Service history can contribute too. Did you have the cooling system serviced at five years like you should have? All in all, some fail sooner, some last longer.

    We've only had it a year and bought it used from a dealership. I changed it out yesterday, bearings were still good but seal was shot - good to go now. Thx for your feedback
