    Acceptable mpg for a car with this level of performance and refinement. My son averages about 24.5 mpg in his 2011 GTI Autobahn (DSG) and that is all in town - plus he drives like a jerk...I've done a country drive in the Mk VI noted above - that included a brief stint at 120 mph (yes - being a jerk also) and got over 31 mpg for a 50 mile jaunt. Still a vehicle that punches above it's price class in a lot of areas.

    I've got 7,000 miles on my 2015 GTI, and with mostly rural and suburban driving, I'm averaging around 33mpg. In the summer months, it's a bit higher when you drive conservatively.

    It's interesting, the CLA did much better than this with similar specs and was still panned for it's mileage.
