    The GTI is truly a wonderful car, but I don't understand the criteria for this award. Why wouldn't a substantially revised and improved Mustang be a better choice than a lightly revised GTI?

    Since both cars are riding on completely revised platforms...more so in fact in the GTI's case...I don't believe your contention is accurate.

    As a Mustang owner I'd have loved to see my car win, but I am sure that the Golf/GTI is a stellar ride.
