My 97 Expedition will not go into any gear. Is it bad? It grinds going into park also.

My expedition has the 4.6 liter. It was like this when I bought it. Not sure where to start. Any suggestions would help.

    You actually bought it like that?

    All we can do is guess here but it sure sounds like it needs a new transmission.

    If you can somehow get it towed to a trusted transmission shop they would be able to quickly tell you what is wrong with it.

    Sadly, I know several F-150 driver's that had to repair or replace their tranny well before 100K: Built Ford Tough!
