Profit potential in reselling auction vehicles

Is there enough profit potential in buying vehicles from dealer auctions & reselling them privately (not on dealer lot)?

I wouldn't be able to charge retail dealer prices for the vehicles as they will be sold as a private seller. After all expenses it would seem to me that there isn't enough profit left over on the private seller side. I want to sell 3-5 cars monthly for extra funds.

What are the typical markups for dealers/non-dealers?

And I understand I need a license to get into these auctions.

thank you

Best check your local and state laws. Most places have a limit on how many cars an individual can sell before they are required to be a dealer. Being a dealer often requires a stand-along lot with an office, etc., not just a license. At that point you're getting into zoning and insurance issues.
