  Thanks Tidester, I did some more research and found there is apparently a big problem cracks in the Elements window. (And apparently the Fit too). Yeah Honda! I'm getting to the have to buy a new car stage anyway I think.

  Oh My... I thought I was the only one with that problem. I thought it was the road I use every day to get to work. do you have any other problems?

  I own a Honda Element 2003, the windshield cracked this winter, the car is in Ukraine but I will be taking it back to England soon. Could anyone tell me of a dealer that would ship the windshield to me. I have tried to google but dont get any real answers and they always ask for a zip code. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance Gordon Melling

  I work for a shipping company so i have a lil idea what im talking about. They are asking for your zip code to get an idea of shipping charges. Any dealer would probably ship the windshield to you but they need to know where your at to get a proper price for a quote.

  I own a 2003 Element.I had the same problem with my windshield back in 2005-2006 and took it to the Honda dealer as it was still under warranty. The "windshield expert" put the pen test to it and said it was hit with a rock or pebble and that caused the crack. That crack turned into a very large crack. I received a letter in the mail from a attorney that had filed a class action suit to require Honda to pay for repairs on these Element windshields and that the pen test was not worth the time the "windshield expert" spent doing it. It was not an excepted test .I sent my receipt to the attorney and a month later was reimbursed every penny. I don't know if this is still in affect but I would talk to your dealer and explain what I experienced and maybe, just maybe. For anybody out there that has had this problem I would question that pen test If they try to use it. It is not an accepted test. I still have my 2003 Element to this day and am happy with it. It is unfortunate that all dealerships are not responsive to their customers needs or concerns. Corporate seems to back them up.

  DO NOT use safelite auto glass. They manufacture their own glass, and chances are its not better quality than the glasses for drinking water in your cupboards.. make sure you replace your Honda Element glass with OEM Original Equiptment Manufacturer and that the glass is PGW. If going through your insurance and you know how they like to refer "their" people, chances are they are buying it dirt cheap and the glass is crap. Dont get me wrong the element is awesome but the design is boxy and straight up and down so its like a baseball mitt. (Honda should be slapped for that) also note that Element was recalled for this very issue being that the bottom corners develop stress cracks because apparently the body filler exceeds the glass thickness causing a need to being evened by shaving down areas, and any glass that is reputable should know about any recall related to a windshield especially since thats their business. But 3 times replacement is not normal even if you may live in a gravel pit. you should NOT have been charged since the vehicle was in in recall status. Are you using the same company for your replacements? it could very well be the quality of glass. Cheers
