My Expedition started making a loud sound when the AC is on.

I turned on my 08 Ford Expedition AC and as I started driving my car started making a very loud screeching whirring sound in line with the acceleration of the vehicle.

At first I thought it was the car itself, but then when I turned the AC off it stopped.....any ideas?

Also the air coming out of the AC is no longer cold. But it still blows air

    The AC compressor is driven by the serpentine belt, so it is either loose / shot or the compressor is shot.
