  I have a Lexus with the "puck" and much prefer that to this.

  I've driven an RX350 with the "puck" for extended drives and I don't like it. I prefer a knob set up. In fact, I really like Acura's set up. They use a knob very similar to iDrive, but they also use plenty of hard buttons as shortcuts. Using a knob just seems to be a better interface in a moving car. A touchpad would be fine for when the car is stationary, but while driving and going over bumps, you're going to constantly overshoot your icons.

  They just need a nob!! They copied everything from German cars, but why not the nob??

  iDrive FTW. Frankly, though, all of these systems introduce a great distraction and their use should be minimized while on the move. It is the price we have to pay for the amazing functionality of today's cars.

  I'm okay with the puck style with an enter button for your thumb. I tried this new style on a NX200t and didn't like it.
