    Nice install. I know nothing about bed extenders but if you're going that route, wouldn't you want one that extended closer to the corners of the tailgate to maximize the extended cargo area?
    Aha! I just took a closer look at the pictures and it looks like if the extender went further to the corners it wouldn't be able to flip into the bed because of the wheel wells. I guess another shortcoming of the short bed.

    " bed extender " is a bit of a misnomer as it doesn't actually extend the bed but I guess is better name than tailgate-sidewall thingy.

    Edmunds has installed a bed extender in a shortbed truck. I'm now checking the weather reports for ice warnings in Hell... :P
