    I have the exact opposite opinion. On past Coopers, it would have been a no-brainer, but on the F56 Cooper, it just didn't (still doesn't) make any sense to me to "pony up" for the 4-cylinder, exactly because the 3-cylinder is "that good". With that same extra cash, there are too many goodies that can be added onto that base Cooper to mention. In a do-over, I'd not change a thing on my Cooper. No doubt in my mind, and not a shred of regret that I didn't choose the S. Besides, the S's front is much uglier, but I digress.
