    YES. Nurturing in children the thought progression from "Look at this" to "This looks wrong" to "I see how it works" to "I will try to fix it" is crucial to their participation in STEM.

    I don't mean to be cruel, but isn't this just seating an existing seal that fell off? That's not really a challenge. Set her loose on the Yugo, I bet she could REALLY do some creative engineering there.

    STEM. If you read about it you'll see the same fundamental traits that are required to be a competent service technician with today's high tech, robotic cars. Top mechanics/technicians are every bit as adept with the physical aspects of the job as they are with the electronics, robotics side. For anybody that becomes a technician the learning starts with the easy things like this weather-strip. Wouldn't it do the consumer good if a young person like this could consider the trade as a possible career?

    Cool that the kid fixed it. Ding on Chrysler for having shoddy workmanship, as normal. Think about all the Chrysler products Edmunds has had. Have they had one vehicle from Chrysler that didn't have fitment issues, weird noises, etc? The Mopar guys think their cars are worth extravagant amounts of money. For the price of a beater 70 - 74 Challenger that needs a total rebuild, no engine, and no transmission, you can go buy a really nice daily driver Ford or GM classic. I'll give them props on the engines they build though.

    Yea this is why I don't like GM and Chrysler. Rubber seals just shouldn't do this in 2015. Some here say American cars get bashed on but rubber seals coming loose usually never happen on imports. Ford seems to be better than their American counterparts on quality.
