    I find the Edmunds' expectation of being able to drive quickly on low-beams totally unrealistic. Is the problem that the low beams lack sideways spread, a common issue with US spec lights IMHO. Maybe their contributors too idle to switch between high and low beams at the appropriate times. Low beams that throw far enough up the road to drive quickly inevitably cause too much glare for oncoming drivers. Ask anybody fresh from Europe about the glare from US low beams and you had better take a folding chair and snacks.

    When you're behind another car on the Crest, you have no choice but to use low beams. The Viper's low beams are unusually inadequate as described in the post. That is all...

    I'd probably check the aiming of the headlights. It's possible that they're aimed too low and that could be why they seem so inadequate.
