    That's good to hear. Hopefully Korean car manufacturers are pushing up to the reliably standards set by the Japanese.

    I would still like to see a Long-Term Review of the Eco model. Perhaps you'll acquire a 2017 Elantra Eco. I'm just curious to see how Hyundai does with DCT transmissions.

    I had a 2000 Kia Sephia that I bought new. While it's materials weren't refined, it was actually a robust little car. My mother purchased a 2005 Kia Spectra brand new and drove it for about 8 years. She's horrible on cars. Multiple deer, hog, dog, cat, racoon, & fence impacts. She's not an alcoholic; just a bad driver. Also, I'm fairly certain she never actually changed the oil, so much as just added more to it when it was so low the engine was clattering. It was finally retired when the fuel system developed a leak at 390,000 miles. It would still run fine, its just that no one felt it was worth looking for the source of the leak (I suspect it was up near the pump's seal...but wasn't going to drop the tank to confirm). It only leaked while the pump was running. So she went out and got a new Kia Optima. After seeing the abuse that my mother put that poor car through, I really had to respect Kia on their quality control.

    Hyundai/Kia quality is pretty good, they have finally gotten the Camcordima formula correct. Not going to win any races or be parked up front by the valet but years and years will pass and it won't ask for more than gas and fresh oil.

    My 2011 Sonata's reliability was getting pretty sketchy by the time I had 70,000 miles on it. The 2.4L engine was using a lot of oil, the transmission was getting very clunky, and the exhaust spewed noticeable smoke under heavy acceleration (for example when merging into traffic or going up a steep hill/grade.) I did consider a 2015 Sonata 2.0T as a replacement, but couldn't bring myself to do it despite a huge discount. No more Hyundais for me.
