Still looks like driver visibility is going to suck. Other than than, this will be an amazing performance bargain.

The new Camaro looks like it will have impressive performance and technology. It will be interesting to see what the pricing will be. It seems that with each facelift or re-design, it gets harder to buy a V-8 pony car with the optional performance package for less than $40,000.

In response to the rather well-put one-liner from Lionel S #208487:

Car windows don't absorb much impact energy and this won't likely change even after they are made from transparent aluminum.

Driver visibility will remain a problem for any new low vehicle due to recent and ever-increasing impact-standards. One must buy an older low car if one wants better visibility out the glass, and the decreased impact protection that goes with more glass in a low vehicle.
Or one can consider consider a new monster-SUV/crossover - those have great visibility, plus great impact protection, but increased likelihood of rollover&fatality, and most of them handle/stop terribly compared to cars. Tradeoffs....

I just bought a 2016 2SS and to me the driver visibility while not as good as say in a Mustang, the Mustang doesn't look like this new Camaro SS. It is what it is. I can see fine out of it. The car has side blind spot monitoring and a backup camera. What do people want, visibility like from a mini van or big SUV? Ain't gonna happen. The car had a sticker of $48K nicely loaded. Looks, power, sports car handling and it's high-tech on the inside. Not bad all things considered value wise.
