    My co-worker has a 2012 Avalon Limited and he's had issues using the Adaptive Cruise while traveling down a hill. The car applies the brakes, just like you experienced.

    What the hill is going on??

    This is why we're still a ways away from self driving cars. Objective #1 is to be able to have it keep up with traffic without any drama whether you are going up a hill or down, cars in front, trucks beside you, etc. That's just step 1 of many. If that can't get nailed down 100% then forget about the rest. I wonder how the Tesla version will do.

    Supposedly the most common type of crash is rear-enders. So now the technology that is supposed to put an end to this accident more than any other (because they happen more than any other...) is actually going CAUSE more of them?

    So much wasted space by the tach.....what on Earth is it there for? The computer controls the engine in 99% of situations....there is no rational reason or practical one to have a tach in modern AT cars.
