98 Buick regal GS 3.8 L transmission problems , Car starts and runs fine and shifts all the way up to overdrive but will not shift into fourth gear, no slippage no noise, speedometer and tachometer on that or work fine

    First thing p check is engine temperature. Coolant not up to a certain temperature odds one thing that prohibits 4Th if I recall. 

    Dumb question on my part probably, but I assume you've verified it's not in fourth by moving the selector out of O.?
