Sun roof is open and off track 2001 signature series

I really like this car but a sunroof for a 2001 Lincoln signature series is apparently hard to find..none of the local shops want to tackle the job. It's opened up but won't continue to open. One side moves about a inch and that's it. It now will not close. I can't pay a Lincoln dealer cause it would cost more then the cars worth?. Suggestions please

I would try cleaning the tracks best you can and seeing if it will move then.
The only other thing you can do is check the relays for the sunroof or replace them and see if one of the relays has failed. Or try doing the motor initialization procedure and see if it gets it back going.

There are several pages that have the procedure.
If fuses are good, relays are good and the tracks are clean, then something may have broken.
I which case, disassembly will be needed.
