My ford ranger XLT 2008 model diesel automatic starter switch key went out, please give info why this happened?

    There really isn't much to say on the "why" a key switch would fail. It happens, mechanical devices wear out. In some cases regarding switches, lubricating grease can dry out over time and insulates the contacts preventing a connection.
