What's the problem with my transmission

I have a Sonata 2000 EF auto sedan, & I felt the car jolt & herd a bang noise 3 weeks ago, but as what usually happens, when I took it to my mechanic, it did not do it. Now last Thursday it happened again & this time it lags badly when first starting off & will not change into cruise/top gear. Has anyone had the same problem & if so can you tell me what was the cause & if possible what was the fix for it.

    Have you checked the fluid level and condition? If the level is low, you can get all sorts of issues due to a lack of hydraulic pressure. If the condition is poor, contamination or poor friction can also cause issues.

    What did your mechanic do to the car (inspect, etc.), and did he provide any recommendations?
