Dave.
I think it has been pretty much beaten to death, and I think I put something in the FAQs, but if there is demand for a refresh then let me know.

My truck traveled via Union Pacific (www.uprr.com)and it was very easy to track with the number that DC gave me. It is now in Denver awaiting transport the last sixty miles to my dealership. I wish I could find out when it starts it's journey via truck to my dealership. If I knew that I would be waiting at the dealership for it to arrive.

Currently have a '99 Ranger. Been an 'ok' truck for me. But I'm ready to upgrade to a 2001 QC I think. I need a little bit more room, need more power by far, want a smoother 5spd, and a wider track. DQC seems to offer this.
Was curious if anyone out there has timed there 0-60. I know trucks aren't meant to be fast off the line, but I read somewhere that this truck had a 7.7 sec 0-60. My ranger is slugglish, even with the 4.0. Not to mention noisy as hell with the overhead valves instead of cams. So, if anyone can comment, let me know.
Also, if you guys could change one thing about the DQC, what would it be?
Dave.
I'll keep y'all posted. Plot thickens.

But those where the old days. Nobody really knows where Ernie is anymore. Somewhere in DC they say. Many of us received excellent customer service and will be forever indebted. It seems that you '01 guys are having to more of the leg work on your own. It really shouldn't be that way but I guess it is.
I was hoping to get a hold of the car carrier themselves to find out where I was on their manifest but they won't give the end user any info. Only the dealer is allowed to find out about that stuff.
I'm hoping this week I will have my truck and also selling my 78 Trans Am.
Steve
While they're moving.
of competence. Know anything about that?

I'm very pleased I opted for the skid-plate pkg, 4x4, and bigger wheels. Also, the sound system is great (CD changer).
Looking forward to taking Lucy down to visit friends south of Austin and checking out the back seat comfort (or lack thereof).
More as things come up. Great site here .....

While I was tracking my '00 QC, I also had a terrific young lady offering the same care and attention as "Earnie." Understand that both of these reps were "doing time" in the FIRST stage of their career path at DC (as it also is at Ford and GM).
Most of these reps are fresh out of college. They recive a couple of weeks training, and then are assigned to the CSC (a centralized Customer Service Center where dozens of these folks are herded into a telephone "boiler room," to handle customer inquirees and complaints. They start with simple calls like new vehicle inquirees, ordering questions, tracking, etc. From there, they are shifted to more difficult calls (service complaints, etc.). If they're successful and don't drop out (as about 3 of 10 do), they're sent out to the field to work as District sales or service reps, interfacing with the dealerships, DC (through the District office) and occasionally directly with customers.
I can't imagine that they would cop out and direct you to the dealer for information unless and until the truck has reached the marshalling center, waiting to be piggybacked or railed (at that point, it's out of their hands). Interfacing with customers and getting answers is their MAIN function at the CSC... But having observed CSC operatios at Chrysler and Ford, I CAN understand how they might burn out and cop out in such a pressured envirenment... And chances are those that do are one of those three who eventually drop out.
My dealership called this morning to tell me that my truck will be dropped off at the dealership this evening. I guess they come at night to avoid the crowds. At any rate, I'll be out there at about 10pm just to take a look around and snap some pictures if it's there.
The dealer told me they like to have few days to get it ready before I pick it up. That would be Thursday. It seems like it shouldn't take that long to check out a new vehicle. Anyway, it's almost here. 22 days from the time of order to time of delivery if I pick it up Thursday.

Dave.
Contacted the parts dept @ my dealer to inquire about the synthetic additive for my lsd rear end.
I mentiond that going to switch to synth fluids in the rear using Mobil 1 and the Parts guy told me that if I used ANYTHING other than Mopar (PARTS AND FLUIDS) while under warranty, and the truck / part failed, Mopar would not honor the warranty agreement.
(I was tempted to ask if I had to get antifreeze, water & fuel from the dealer too - but I kept my mouth shut!)
I asked about fluids that meet the same spec, and the parts guy said it did'nt matter! If Mopar could show that I used non-Mopar stuff & the unit failed, they would not warranty it. I guess he enjoys this type of discussion, or he has seen it happen because he was VERY forceful when he was talking to me!
Just as a side note . . . the lds rear called for 5oz of additive, Mopar only comes in 4oz bottles . . . would'nt you know it! I guess Mopar is happy to sell you two bottles for that extra ounce! ($6.95 per 4 oz)
Any comments or personal experences? Is this guy jerking my chain, or do they really think Mobil 1 does not conform to their spec??
Thanx for input

THANKS - Surfzup
I picked up my 2001 Bronze with Taupe interior last Saturday. Then we spent the day riding through the mountains (20.6 MPG). Today it still only has 260 miles on it, so more than half of the driving I have done was Saturday.
I have noticed that a lot of people look at it. There seems to be different type of people that look at it though. Older gentlemen look at it while it is sitting. I think that they are looking at something that will do all that a minivan will do without the bad part.
The only time that younger guys look at it is when it is growling, (y'all know what I mean) or I have the stereo loud. (Joe Walsh, Ordinary Average Guy; "My friend has a Chrysler, I've got a Dodge"). I do not know why some of the other people look at it. Maybe they can tell it is new.
Anyway here is what I got.
SLT

Thank all of you for what you have done in this forum. It made buying this truck very different. It could have made it easy if I was not so curious, but I feel like I got exactly what I wanted without all of the hassle that it would have taken without all of the great info and people here.
1]have not had a problem with phantom locks when it rains.[no security system]live in ct and its rained plenty this summer
2]can't figure out how to shut off auto door lock.it wouldn't be bad if it unlocked when you put it in park
3]can't shut the horn off when i use the remote lock either
4]gas milage at 1500k is 16.5 for mixed driving
5]a/c isn't cold enough [hope it just needs a charge] but it dosn't drip on the exhaust.
6]rear defoger has 2 lines that don't work. i hope they don't have to change the window to fix it.and it's tinted
7]no sag in rf or alignment problems or popping sound
8]no problems with scrathes [yet] but i put on f/f and mud flaps looks 100%better
9]exterior is red interior is dark grey, they might as well call it black though.i love the changes they made to it over the 00
.looks more like a truck now than a car.but i like the old 60/40 bench my 92 had over the 40/20/40. the plastic is very hard to keep clean being so dark and armorall dosn't seem to work
well
10]the new 16'' rims are a huge improvment
11]been through a couple of cold mornings and no stalling
so far the truck has been great the kids [3]love it .power&handling are great looks great.and those pictures of how to remove the radio were very helpfull for when that time comes.ineed a bed liner [load -lok dosn't make one] and a remote starter first.
it suits my needs very well. It's great that you finally got your truck. Best of luck with it and everything else in your life. Looks like the Braves did it again. A new record for consecutive division championships, breaking their own record.
What a ball club!

I have an '01 4X4 Quad Cab, 4.7, auto, yadda, yadda, yadda...
1) I don't have security system either, been through several extremely heavy down-pours and no phantom locks here.
2),3) If you find an answer to these, please post as I'd like to get rid of the horn beep @ lock. For those who may be newbies, the instructions in owner's manual don't work, at least on '01s.
4) My gas mileage has been hovering right around yours. I'm at about 2200 miles.
Keep on Quadin'

While I have not seen 20's, 15-17 is very respectable to me after 13-14. It might have to do with elevation because my old truck loved the mountains.

There is a lot of difference between the Bronze and the Silver. Everyone says to me "I like the color, I bet it won't show dirt." I hope that they are right especially since we have not been able to wash cars after 10:00 AM since March.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-hhhhhhhhhhhh-aaaaaaaaaaaaa
No, I just gotta make the time, and clear up the finances to go pick the sucka up. Question to everyone: are there any dealer incentives going on for the 01 Quad that I should know about? And, if so does that come off the $200 over invoice" that we agreed upon???
thanks. it'll be good to finally be a full member of the club.
dave.
I just removed all the stick-ons except the rams head on the hood from my 01 Bronze SLT QC with a hair dryer and a plastic putty knife. It only took about 15 minutes and looks great.
