Hi, new to buying a car from private party, and was hoping to get any insight or opinions on this GT I'm thinking of getting, as would be my first stang. Based on this post, is it a good buy? Any tips appreciated.

The problem with buying a modified car is that in most cases you don’t know the quality of the modifications and/or how well that they were installed. This car in particular looks like a complete mess- what the Brits would call a “dog’s breakfast.”
I would not even consider it.

If you really want it then pay for a pre purchase inspection

Hard pass. Looks like this has been a hard 150k/. There are better examples out there with lower miles. Don’t know your budget but these are plentiful and I think you can do better. The aftermarket for the Fox body has been around forever so parts are affordable and well designed by this point.

I concur with others here, unless you know the current owner you have no idea how good the mods are or how they will affect the car. Plus a modified GT could have some hard miles on it. As another has said have it inspected before buying it.

As for me I would pass on it.

That’s a lot of miles on that old design 5.0L. You know that’s not the same as the 5.0L Coyote engine, right? Also, what’s with the matte black paint/wrap? I’d want to know what they’re hiding with that.

A good condition Mustang of that vintage could fetch $10k in this crazy market but I’d have a mechanic inspect that one really closely first.
