USDM = US Domestic Market
We'll probably see the newly redesigned Forester here in the USDM in the late summer.
Ken
If somebody doesn't snag a pic at the upcoming Philly show first, I will try to do so at the Chicago show.

Hmm, ImageStation is either down or really slow right now, but later on check out this album:

Go to the index, then you can choose Display All and see all the pics Bob and I took. There are more than 100.
You may have to register.

Unfortunately, it looks like Subaru won't be debuting anything new at the Chicago show this year. Their press conference that was scheduled is now off the list. Seems like they'll debut the facelifted Forester in NY instead.
-Brian
I bet if it had debuted in Chicago, that it would have the exact same engine and tranny.
But this gives me hope for AVCS on the base engine and perhaps a 5EAT, or at least Sportshift controls on the 4EAT.

Invest a bunch of money and your customers will spend less.
That's why I think they'll keep it under 180hp no matter what, even if they have to understate the power it's making.

Chicago: Nada. Outside chance of '06 Legacy and/or Outback (I find it hard to believe that SOA won't introduce something new here)
Geneva in early March: New Euro-spec Impreza
NY in late March: All remaining US-spec '06 models, including Impreza, Forester, Baja, Legacy & Outback
Paris in Sept: Euro-spec Forester

and it sounds like Subaru's gonna make a big push on hybrids in North America: Fuji Heavy "will use it to make hybrids a mainline product in the North American market..."
This is a big "wahoo!" in my opinion... will keep Subaru's environmentally sensitive image intact despite building larger, more luxurious and more powerful vehicles. Will give Subaru's built-in "granola" customers reasons to stay with the brand, too. Way to please a core group while pursuing the up-market goal, Subaru!

So much for the new Impreza debuting there.

OK, now, build my (and Brenda's) B9 Scrambler!

However, I wasn't aware that FHI was into advanced battery technology. Nice sinergy at play here since Toyota's biggest issue in ramping up production has been finding enough batteries.
Sly
So licensing it from Toyota is really the only way to go. Why license Honda's lesser system?

Craig
I bet they only license the software, HSD that is.

The US Trademark office shows it - it says abandoned but I don't know what that means.
how do you they do these without having the technology, why do they have to partner ?
'11 GMC Sierra 1500; '98 Alfa 156 2.0TS; '08 Maser QP; '67 Coronet R/T; '13 Fiat 500c; '20 S90 T6; '22 MB Sprinter 2500 4x4 diesel; '97 Suzuki R Wagon; '96 Opel Astra; '11 Mini Cooper S
At first Subaru called it the B9SC, but later they officially used the name B9 Scrambler. So maybe Jeep has abandoned ownership of the name.

So the hybrid thing is not a done deal, and Fuji can offer li-ion technology in return. Interesting. I knew the battery supply was a constraint.

Ken
We can always use more power, though.
-juice
can we do it ourselves ?
Is this a good product ?
Will this reduce turbo lag ?

Here's some advice. Every currently-available Subaru has some other thread reserved for its discussion at Edmonds. The thread relevant for sweet_subie's most recent post is: Subaru Crew - Modifications II.
Please, reserve this thread for news and opinion about Subarus that aren't yet available for sale at your dealer.
Vishnu makes a reliable product with some very simple changes, which begs the question, why doesn't Subaru consider hiring some of their engineers or programmers to see what they could do in-house?
Note that in every tuner comparo I've seen, Vishnu's cars are not necessarily the fastest, but they always seem to complete every test, reliably.
That is precisely what OEMs require.
Give Elissa some credit where credit is due.
