2018 Acadia Does NOT recognize vehicle is in park! Only 39,000 miles! Help

My vehicle only has 39,000 miles and of course 3k miles out of warranty. Out of no where I started to get a message stating my vehicle is not in park when it is in park. I’m having issues getting this covered since it’s “out of warranty”. However, there have been multiple law suits against GMC for this issue. It’s not something I caused and isn’t a “wear and tear” kind of thing. They want to charge me $1000 for a manufacturing defect. Anyone else have this issue? 2018 GMC Acadia.

    My 2018 GMC Acadia has 26,000 miles and is doing the same thing. Took to dealer and they dont have the part and of course my car is 3 yrs old so not covered.
