I am having a child in April which is better with one child? Odyssey or CR-V? Odyssey is considerably more expensive, but bigger. CR-V has 4 wheel drive and is cooler? Both are hard to find used - should I have any room to negotiate?

We are discussing Odysseys in our Vans conference and CR-Vs in our SUV conference. You can use the Topic Search feature on the left side of the page to find ongoing discussions that could be very helpful to you.

You may also want to check in to the Our Turn conference which is devoted to women's automotive issues of all kinds. One way to find it is to use the Conference drop down list just below the Topic Search function.

    Good luck.

We are considering ordering a new GMC Jimmy. One of the options is a 3.73 rear axle ratio. The standard axle is a 3.42. Which ratio will provide the best gas mileage for everyday non-tow commuting? Is the difference insignificant? I get conflicting statements from local dealers.

Our Finance, Warranty and Insurance Conference is probably your best resource here in Town Hall.

I used the Topic Search feature on the left side of the page for lease and came up with a topic that would be a good place for your question. Here is a link:

Lease Questions - Ask Here (Topic #622)

    Good luck.

I am buying a suburban but it comes with a 410 axle. I plan to tow in the near future (2 years) but for the meantime, it will be a soccer vehicle not to be used for towing. Is the 410 vs 373 a big deal????

sell or trade thr Neon,it has a blown head gasket or the head is cracked.Axle ratios are simply how many times an axle turns per driveshaft turn. Low axle ratios get worse gas mileage but are ok for towing.A 4.10/1 ratio is a good tradeoff for towing and mileage. As for the Cadillac w/100k mileage, that is not too bad, within acceptable limits.I have a '93 Formula with a LT-1 350 engine with 114,000 and uses no oil that i can tell.Lucky me!

The places in Town Hall to seek buying advice for a vehicle such as the Passat would be our Sedans Conference and our Smart Shopper Conference.

I suggest you use the Topic Search feature on the left side of this page for Passat and find and active topic in one of those conferences to ask your question.

    Good luck.

I recently bought a 1996 Aerostar AWD 58,000 miles. Ran great then after 2000 miles engine now has a faint pinging (valves tapping ?) that sounds like a diesel, even when standing still & idling. What should I do ?

What is the most common reason for the anti-lock brake dash light to come on and stay on in a Ford Explorer.
  • pat455pat455 Member Posts: 603
sure1, you should check out our Finance, Warranty and Insurance Conference. Take a look at the topic list - I'm sure you'll find a good place to ask your question.

mking10, you might want to use the Topic Search feature on the left side of this page for Explorer - you will find lots of active topics on this vehicle where you can ask this question.

I purchased a new car that had 1600 miles already. Would that car be considered as used for the miliage that was previously put on it?

has a new position with Edmunds.com, we will be retiring this topic for now...

If we can prevail on him to return, we will!
