    Where is it?

If it's immaculate... I think this is worth $15,500. What think you T-Man? Jeeps and Dodge pickups me no know too well.

    $4,750 against invoice less rebates?

You did well. I'd not want to own that Truck for that myself. Good job! :)

    I'm leery of used alloys.

Try searching for a company called Wheel Collision Center in Bath, PA.

$150-$180 and the wheel will be good as new.

    Umm,

    Love to help.

    How many doors?
  • nowitswarnowitswar Member Posts: 9
The bumper will be the exact same bumper as whatever comes on stock SLTs.

The vehicle was hit from behind (again, at a very low speed, minor cosmetic damage only, and if it is replaced with the exact same bumper, I do not see how this would effect the price). I am not paying a dime on this repair.

..... You did good .. I knew that AWD V8 had to raise it's head sometime in the negotiations, especially in New Hamshaw ..

Believe it not, Bill was right-on this one, $11/$11,5 would be just about all of it .. there is more Dodges in MI than there is Ducks, plus it's a 2WD ..

    ....Four doors, automatic...

(I was hoping not to be one of the idiots who forgot something important) :)

I was offered $5,000 trade in for my 1996 Chevy Blazer LS 4x4 /w 55,000 miles. Has power driver's seat, cd radio, alarm, new tires. I live in Raleigh, NC. Looks like new inside and out - had it detailed before I went to the dealer. But it does the shakes when over 60mph.

I was looking at a Chevy Avalanche. If the Blazer lost that much value then maybe I don't want another Chevy.

Is $5,000 about what I can expect? Thanks.

Got $26,500 for my Tahoe LT from a private seller. Hard to believe that that is all they are worth with all the local dealers asking in the low $30's but after a couple of months, this was all I could get.

It was strange. I had it advertised on autotrader.com for a long time at $27,000-$28,000 with no bites. I dropped the price to $26,500 and over the weekend I get 3 seriour bites!

Thanks for your advice. It seems you were right on when you said mid-$26's awhile back. Kudos! :)

.... Actually, you did good .. real good.!

The Tahoes have dropped about $5/$800 in the last 4/5 weeks .. so you did fine.

..... Hey Tom .. unless there is some damage, paintwork, no click click in the 4WD, or the interior looks like a pig roast was just held there .. then you my friend, are right on target .. new sneakers and the miles are fine for the year so in and around that $5ish figure - thank goodness you said it was a 4dr, you wouldn't of liked the other figure.

Its got 74,000 miles, 4 cyl and automatic tranny. Only problem is a bad Air Bag module (or something). The dealer says that if it only costs a couple of hundred bucks that they will fix it and sell it themselves. It could be as much as $1800 :0, in that case they said they would wholesale it.

I was thinking of trading my 92 Accord LX sedan with AT and almost 200,000 miles for the wagon. What kind of numbers would I be looking at for these Accords?

    Thanks a bunch! :)

Interesting how the prices can change from week to week. I posted about a Subaru a few weeks back on a trade in, but still have the vehicle. Now, my new vehicle is in and ready this week, and want to double check the price (see if the numbers are still valid). Probably a trade in, but if I can't get a good price there I may sell it myself.

1995 Subaru Legacy L Sedan. Auto. Dark blue. AWD/ABS. Rear spoiler. Aftermarket single CD player. 79,500 miles. I am the 2nd owner and bought it from a dealer a couple years ago, so records previous to my ownership aren't readily available. I've used it as a 2nd car and haven't put that many miles on it since acquiring it, but have done stuff like replaced headlights, battery myself. No noticable dings, interior will look great after a vacuum.

Denver area. High 3's still looking reasonable on a trade? Private sale?

    Thanks.

I have a 2000 Accord EX Sedanwith Leather, 60k miles, new tires, new brakes, and in great condition. I have priced out the trade-in value on Edmunds at $11,216, on cars.com black book at $13,500, and KBB at $11,025. Can anyone give me a real world idea of what I can expect to get for this car in Atlanta.

Oooh Doggie, right up my alley.

I helped my neighbors get rid of theirs; a white '90 or '91 LX wagon with questionable AC and a coupla niggling problems they fixed first, 120 klicks or so, and just an overall OK older car, nothing special...

They got $2k for the silly thing, or about triple what I personally would have paid for it... I had a close look at it, and with a little rust here, and a little spillage there, and just maybe some oil seepage over there, I wasn't interested. They took it to a shop for a new thermostat and some light AC work, then put a high price in the paper. Dropped it significantly after a week or so, and the next day the darned thing is gone.

Sooooo, if you're buying this puppy from a dealer, and with these low miles, I wouldn't be surprised if you wound up paying $5,500 - $6k for it. And if it's all there, that might not do it, but I wouldn't go any higher than that.... All this assumes the air bag if fixed first... or offer to take it off their hands, right now, for $4,500 or $5k, and they won't have to deal with it.

To auction? An low-mileage Accord wagon? In low-rust Missouri?? Nuts!! Just TRY and find another one...

Your '92 is a candidate for retail alley, cleaned up, if it's got no problems, try to get close to $2k, take $1,500... but I'm much less sure about that one... Terry will assist and advise, I'm sure, he knows both ends of the market...

    Hi guys,

We are thinking about trading in this little vehicle towards a newer model.
One owner, 79k miles, green, standard EX goodies plus a tape player. The condition is ok, a couple of scratches here and there, runs very good.
How much would it be worth in a trade-in?

    Thank you in advance!

    Almost forgot, located in Minnesota.

Sorry for the lack of info, it's a 4 cylinder Accord, Navy outside, greyish-blue leather interior, and yes it's an automatic.

I am thinking more like high 2s on a trade.. $2800-3K if it's super nice.

I'd ask $4,900 and expect to see $42-4500 on a private sale. that's my 2c tho.. But I did just sell a 58K mile '98 L wagon for $7100 and did well with it.

    Good :)

I have used them on some VERY expensive and hard to fix wheels and have been very pleased (3-Piece 18" BMW alloy..etc..)

let me know how it works out!

I was juuust gonna ask but assumed a 4-cyl Autobox.

Ok, Accord EXA With leather, good. blue is no real help and the odometer shows a number that's just pretty big. This will probably end up at the proverbial Auction.

I'm thinking $9500-10K on this one.

  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
$7K ought to be plenty for the '95 Wagon.. but these are flat-out rare in nice shape, they may not need to cut a super special deal on it, ya know?

IMO, the '92 is worth about a grand.. maybe $1,500 if it isnt getting the old steel oxide all over.. but $1K-1200 with those miles is about reality imo.

Lemme know what they come up with.

.... Steine13 (Mathias) has just about covered it all ..

The only issue is the airbag thing .. check for any paintwork and make sure all the numbers are on the fenders ..

*The Real question is: what did Mathias have for lunch.?

                 Terry.
  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
I'll assume Automatic.. and these are all 4-cyls IIRC.

79K miles is no help here I am afraid. 8K hits me off the bat, but maybe $8500.

Hey, I been watching something.. you ever come across 88-89 Caprice Classics.. Clean, and White in color you can get to Imperial for a G note or less....

...... 1991 BMW 850i, 33k, just had it's 30k transfusion .. maroon, grey gut's, auto, all records and always garaged, no fade, looks 01 .. no smoke, no kisses, seats been hovered in, new Yoka's, 99% original .. hand touch-up on pass side front fender about the length of a cigarette .. other than that, pretty stand tall dude, runs like the 101st airborne is chasing it ..

               What say you ..

  • im_brentwoodim_brentwood Member Posts: 4,883
That sounds nice, even if I never liked those cars myself.

IIRC.. the typical real nice, 90-100K mile one is worth like a dozen.. might retail for a $15K or so?

This one tho.. send it to FAAO on the right day and, hell.. $16K? $17K? I could even see $20K at Manheim or Riverside or Tampa Bay or FAAO.

A co-worker (my boss actually) is looking at a 95 Camry wagon for his wife. It's a red LE V-6 with 98,000 for mileage. It also has an automatic, AC, moonroof, alloys and the usual ABS, PW,PL, tilt etc. No leather or CD player. On Carfax it seems to be a one owner. The boss's local Toyota dealer has it at $7495. We were wondering what the resident used car experts feel it would take to put that puppy into the wife's little hands. And before we get sent to our rooms the car is in Massachusetts. Thanks for your help.

    Hi everyone:

I'm looking to get rid of a 99 Dodge Avenger, 40,800 miles, auto, pwr windows, locks, tilt, cruise..color is "cafe latte".

It has been appraised for $4500 on trade in, although I notice that some regional dealers have them priced around $10-11K.

Just trying to get a feel. Thanks!

    Hi everyone:

I'm trying to get rid of a 1999 Dodge Avenger:

40,800 miles, pwr windows and locks, tilt, cruise, "cafe latte" color.

    Region is Western PA.

I was quoted $4500 on trade in, and notice that there are a couple in the region listed between $9500-$11000....just trying to figure out what its worth.

    Thanks!

Sorry for the double post ....

    It is a V6 - Sport edition
  • zueslewiszueslewis Member Posts: 2,353
does it have an "ES" badge on it or is that a dealer package? Is the 5th, 6th and 7th digits of the VIN "U42" or "U52"?
  • zman3zman3 Member Posts: 857
I sought your opinion last fall on selling my 95 Explorer. Now I'm back because I am less than pleased with my new vehicle buying decision and I need you opinion again.

I'm looking for trade and retail numbers on an 03 Ford Expedition. It has had less than stellar reliability so far, which I know won't shock some of you but I have always had good luck with Fords.. I am looking to see how much of a beating I would take on it if I choose to get rid of it. I definitely haven't given up on it yet, I am just kind of doing some preliminary legwork. Here are the specs:

03 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 4WD (5.4L standard)
    4000 miles
    Laser Red
    Options:
    AdvanceTrac stability control
    Sunroof
    Power fold 3rd row
    Heated/cooled seats
    Safety canopy airbags

The options that it doesn't have is navigation, second row captain chairs, and rear DVD.

I bought it for a pretty good price, but I know it's not going to be pretty. I'm kind of thinking I should have maybe bought the Sequoia, but I see people are having some issues with those also.

    What do ya say?

    Thanks.
  • coldwaterconchcoldwaterconch Member Posts: 7
It is not the ES edition (I don't think)....and it is a U42 VIN.

Regarding the "Sport" edition...it says "Sport" on the side, and I know that the Dodge info lists a Sport edition, but in the KBB, edmunds, etc., the division is between Std and ES.
  • zueslewiszueslewis Member Posts: 2,353
the "sport" thing is probably a dealer package. I was around DCC in '98-01 and they didn't do a sport package other than the ES. The U42 says it's a base.

Wholesale is $8,400 or so, but these things are everywhere - no offense. The miles are great and if it's all pretty, it would make a nice retail piece. I think the real money is $6-6,500, about 2 grand more than they're showing. You could easily put it in the paper for $9,995 and go from there. In fact, the newspaper would be your best friend on this one.
  • coldwaterconchcoldwaterconch Member Posts: 7
    Thanks, zues. Appreciate your help!

I'm leanding towards the paper on this one....it is in excellent condition and looks pretty...

clean it up really well or have it detailed - big sign for viewing in your local parking lot, good ad in the paper - you should do well.
