As noted, if you are reasonably handy and have at least one floor jack at home to make it easy, installing the accessories is not difficult, but then what's the point? Your price is a very good one. Enjoy the car...we surely have at our house.
a new 2001 Honda Accord LX. I've suggested that if he has
got the cash, to buy. Can I get feedback from people out there
on this.....what are your opinions?
Anyway, I like its style especially the interior. I just want a car to serve me well.
However, I like the experience buying this car. We just asked the dealer if they could sell us an SE with CD player installed under $19500(OTD,with 3% sale's tax and document fee,car price was about $80 under invoice if counted the CD) by email, I was suprise that the salesman told us they could sell the car under the above price and we were free to choose any SE in their lot. At that time, they have about 15 SE covered all the three colors. We just came and picked one. It just had 1 mile in the ordometer. We did not haggle the price. The salesman and us were all pleased in the situation that we were not bitter to bargain.
It's a 4-banger. If you want a faster car, buy a biger motor.
I just got my front pads on Accord 98 46k by a Dealer. Fluid Flush $75, Rotor Job $145 and break pads $55.
1. What is the cost comparison for Rotor Job v/s Rotor Replacement, which one is advisable.
2. How do the prices compare for the jobs I got
done, are they normal ?
Thanks

I discovered last night that if you wait too long to open the door after unlocking it with the key fob, the car locks it self again. I went out in the garage and unlocked the car. While I was putting my shoes on, it locked itself again.
I also know that the car won't let you lock the door if the keys are in the ignition, but the car is off.
Any help on where I should start looking ???
thanks
Does Honda recommend regular type gas for both the 4 cyl. and V6?
Two days after I picked my 2000 EX V6, the SRS warning
light (Airbag) came on. Unfortunately, I picked up the
car on a Wednesday, and on Friday night (after the dealer
had closed) the light came on. Fearful that the airbag
would engage and cause a serious accident, I did not drive
the car until Monday....on which day the dealer replaced
the SRS unit, which was faulty.
Good Luck!
Every automatic car I have driven or ridden, I can feel gear shift (includes Camry and Lexus. My previous car was a 1989 Camry), this is by itself is not abnormal. Granted, the current generation of Camry does shift a little more smoothly than the Accord. Is this your first car by any chance?
As for acceleration, the 4 cylinder Camry is no match for the 4 cylinder Accord. I drove a rental 2001 Camry for a week and speaking from experience.
the ONLY reason the April 2001 Consumer Reports gave the 2000 Accord transmission a less-than-perfect mark was the isolated problem that existed with a certain number of V6 Accords that had a "thunking" sound when vehicle was put in reverse. a TSB was put out on this, and the problem was fixed. there were NO problems with the automatic transmission on the 4 cyl models.
Silver LX 4 dr 4 cyl a/t.
I told the dealer this immediately next morning and they're response was "Oh just bring it in and we'll write up a new statement". I was astonished at that response. How could a "new" vehicle have over 600 miles on it?
I tried bargaining with the dealer and the best they would do is offer $200. in accessories at the dealer list price, which is a huge ripoff.
Any pointers on how I should proceed? I know there will be a customer satisfaction survey and some follow up calls from the dealer and Honda, which I'll be sure to explain my displeasure.
Oh, I traded in a 1999 Honda Odyssey and got a super deal. It really held it's value.
The odometer sheet here in Florida is the only paper work that shows the actual mileage of the vehicle.
I'm hoping I can program both my CRV and Accord to accept the same remotes. Is the programming procedure the same for the Accord and CRV?
did you test drive the exact car you bought beforehand and noted the odometer reading? if so, how could you not notice the mileage?
or did the dealer have to locate the car you wanted? if so, wouldn't you have assumed that the odometer would have some miles on it, if the car had to be driven from another dealer?
i agree, over 600 miles is alot of miles for a new car.... i just wonder how you as a customer would not have taken note of the odometer reading prior to signing your name to any sales agreement.
maybe the dealer made a mistake by reading the trip odometer and not the actual mileage odometer.
regardless, i would say you're owed either some money or another car. but to me, you're not blameless for not checking the odometer during either the test drive, or if you didn't test drive the exact car, during your pre-signature walk-through. am i nuts?
The salesman said he mistook the trip meter for the odometer so that's how that mistake happened.
I just bought a new Accord ExV6, it's greate. But when I come to a stop (not parking), the car shakes a little. You can feel the shake especialy with the steering wheel. Is this normal? Anyone else has the same problem?
Thanks.
What did you pay for it?
thanks
Thanks.
1000, 2000 or 3000 miles?
what speed should I be driving the car during this break in period?
* Accords steering is one of the hardest.
* Accord ride is much rough but makes it better
on rough roads
* engines, no comparison on performance, but
Hondas make a lot of noise.
Seem to have more power throughout the rev range.(At least the Accord).
Are a little noisier than Toyota.
But the noise isn't a gnashing raucous noise is more "sewing machine" like. (I like it)
Are "interference" meaning the engine may be damaged if the timing belt breaks. Toyota's aren't.
My 02.
Engine seemed to have lost some punch on occation before that. did a complete tune-up 3 weeks prior, no code on the ecm! i think it might be the idle air control (IAC) on the FI.
Any ideas?
I knew something was funny when the final figures came in about $800. cheaper than I originally thought but what the heck, I didn't argue with them.
So he calls me back with a final figure that was about $250. higher than the out-the-door price I originally negotiated which was $18022.59. I told him the correct figure should be the $18022.59 minus the $200. he promised for the additional mileage, minus $15.00 for not filling my gas tank when I took delivery, leaving a final figure of $17802.59. I'm still waiting for him to call me back. He was astonished when I told him the vehicle was delivered with 1/4 tank of gas.
The additional mileage on the car was due to a dealer trade, which is understandable, but he still should have told me about it before hand.
This has been a real nightmare, never have I seen such dealer incompetence. Hmmmm, how much do you think he'll give me for the customer satisfaction survey that American Honda sends out?
The only question I have is the dealership was affiliated with Automation and they said they don't sell Honda extended warranties - only warranties through Automation. Can I buy a warranty through Honda directly?
