There are a few people who are never happy and think all of the extras should come at no charge.
Trouble is, the dealers have to pay for all of these items!
Name's Jerry, now doing a boring survey on car brands. Just a few questions, what do you guys think of the above 5 brands? What would u associate with each of them? Do they mean something to you? For example, some people regard Buick as for elder citizens. I don't know. I just want to know what u folks think.
Thanks.
I agree about using silicone lube in place of WD-40... WD-40 is a great product, but it's not the best choice for rubber.
WD40 was not designed for this kind of application - it is messy and smelly, and will actually harm the rubber over the long pull.
My questions are:
1. Is this only for 2001 4 cylinder Accords in the Bay Area? (Owner's can you take a look and let us all know about your vehicle?)
2. Is this normal? (Doesn't seem like it!)
3. Is it cosmetic?
Thanks.
there is a service bulletin about that rattle/squeak. it's a known issue, and the dealer recommends wd-40...
it IS good to know about the silicone spray.. do you find that at hardware stores? i'll have to pick some up. the dealership just used wd-40 on mine, and geez, the smell was horrible for 2 days.
but thanks for that recommendation.
I have been quoted $29,850.00 Canadian for the Accord EX-Leather (5 speed)including... Frieght/Admin /AC/Gas Tax...etc complete with 15% tax, on the road.
Is this a good deal?
Thank You,
Robert.
P.S. Before tax/fees $24,909.78
I have to shake my head at the dealer going with WD40 for this purpose...that stuff has lots of uses, but this would not be one of them for me.
bought the 2000 Accord EX V6 for a total price of
$34,700 (all taxes included) in Montreal Canada.
(It was $30,075 before taxes).
Have the dealer throw in the simulated wood finish on the dash & doors. It really adds a classy look to the interior. also, the GOLD BADGE kit is a very "NICE to HAVE"....see if the dealer
can throw this in as well.
Enjoy your Accord!!

I am looking at the honda Accord EX-V6, I am going to offer them $22,665, with no payment down. My tax rate is 3.5%, I will like to keep the car for 2 Years, with 18,000 Miles per year.
Can anyone tell me what type of payment this is going to come out to.
Thanks.

Then, he takes me out on his own EX 4 cyl and we both hear the same thing again!
He explained that the tire size and its contact with the road produces the sound and that it was normal. He also mentioned that the LX model was quieter because they have 70 series tires (not as wide) vs. the 60 series on the EX.
Has anyone else experienced this road noise and if so...is it normal? Is it caused by the "wide
tire contact" with the road?
All answers appreciated. Many thanks!
The price on the EX-L is about as cheap as anyone can hope for (below invoice). Go for it and enjoy!
I usually go with the dressing sometime in the first month we have the car, then it's mostly a matter of how much you drive, and who uses the car...we are childless and petless, for example, so cleaning / dressing sessions can be widely spaced. Make sure you wipe off the dressing thoroughly to avoid damage to clothing.
price I've been quoted for the Accord EX-L 5 Speed 2.3 L..
You quoted figures from CarCostCanada.
While I have not used their service, I have obtained the Automobile Protections Agency's (APA)
"Dealer Invoice".
What would you say is the difference between the two? CarCost figures are $300 cheaper than the APA's.
Is the formula the same between the two. I.E. Frieght and PDI to be added to the dealer invoice to achieve a total before the verious fees and taxes? I know the APA is quoting a dealer figure to which you add freight/PDI..... etc.
Finally, I am also lucky enough to be in the market for a CIVIC LX 4 Speed Sedan. Both cars to be purchased together.
Would you happen to have the CarCost numbers?
The APA has quoted $17,984.00 plus freight/pdi/taxes etc.
I am finding the dealers seem flexible with the Accord pricing (as you noticed with the quote I received), however, are a $1000.00 over APA invoice on the Civic.
Any tips/suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert.
P.S. I apologize for the long post.
Sorry I don't have the Carcost figure on the Civic.
I think from now thru 2002 model year you will find the best bargains on the Accord. The current model is getting long in the tooth. There are no major changes to compete with the new Altima & Camry, so I think you will find special editions, price incentives, and generally very motivated dealers for the Accord. But the Civic is a new model for 2001. And in Canada the Civic sells very well. That's why you will encounter dealer being firm on their prices.
Carcost gave me a dealer price for the LX-V6 that is 6% below the MSRP. This seems like a very narrow margin, especially comparing it with the 10% margin shown in Edmunds and the 9.5% margin obtained by Scorpio for the EX-L-5.
Either Carcost is not reliable or the LX-V6 is priced more aggressively in Canada. In both cases this does not bode well for my coming negotiations!
Thanks
I got a quote from a dealer for a LX 99 4 cyl with 27K miles for $16K. It's a certified used Honda. Does it sound like a good deal? Also, any feedback on the 99 Accord would be welcome.
Thanks
thanks
I'd really appreciate anyone's advice before I finalize this!
i.e.Invoice + Destination.
