My parents have a 2006 Chev Impala that has 75,000 miles. In the last 2 months they have had to replace the water pump cost 250.00 and throttle actuator cost 500.00. I can understand the water pump going bad but.... Is there some sort of safety recall on the throttle actuator? It all started when a warning light came on reduce engine speed. The car slowed down then the service engine light came on. Thank goodness it happened not to far from their home. The are elderly and this could have been a bad situation. The mechanic said it would cost 500.00 to fix it. Any help would be appreciated
