Calling Los Angeles-based car shoppers: Have you recently traded in (or plan to trade in) a car with negative equity (i.e. the amount you owe on your auto loan is greater than the car's value)? A reporter would like to speak with you; please reach out to PR@Edmunds.com by 11/6 for details.

I am having problems with my 94 ford explorer xlt v6 4.0. The transmission slips from 1st to 2nd then its normal. When this happens the rpm goes high up then i let the accelerator go and it shifts but only from 1st to 2nd. The transmission was over filled with fluid it was even spit out by the trans. Can anyone tell me what is the what may cause my truck to make the transmission slip on the first shift only? I will really appreciate the help this has been driving me coocoo for coco puffs. PLEASE HELP thank you mucho if you do.
