So does that mean.. since I bought the car at $23,037... the dealership lost $1,649..?? That doesnt make sense... are my numbers off?? Or is this calculator fake? your numbers are not off. You don't know all the hidden cost the dealer has when selling vehicles. Most car experts will tell you that all of the posted dealer invoice pricing probably allows another 3% more in savings going to the dealers that we the consumers are not privy of knowing? I have bought brokered over 1100 new vehicles for family, friends and friends of friends over a 40 year period. Thru out the year there is more trunk money allotted to each dealer from there manufacturer thus enabling them to lower there pricing. So to answer your question the dealer did not lose $1649 on your deal. All Honda vehicle's sold or leased each dealership gets 2% of the MSRP price ( that's called dealer-holdback ) plus dealers doc fee in your case $80, plus any accessories added to vehicle that you paid over dealer invoice price , plus if you finance thru dealer they get a kick back. On your 16 CRV model the dealer may be receiving another 1500 to 2000 off the sale price to sell it to you.
