My 2007 MDX is having some sort of clicking noise coming from the front area every time I accelerate from stop. I hear the same
noise when I stop. This only happens at low speeds.
Does anyone have the same issue?. I called the dealer about the service bulleting for the rear bolts but he said it is something else. They have not been able to figure out what's wrong, they just say that they are in contact with Acura support.
I'd appreciate any information, this is really annoying.

Could it be as simple as the spare tire is not hoisted up tight enough to the bottom of the vehicle? It would be worth checking to see. I have not experiened any of this rear baning on my 2007 MDX.
Yesterday, I noticed that the side of the dashboard, both on the driver and passenger sides are falling off. Also, the dashboard appear to be coming unglued (or whatever is holding the bottom of it). Some areas of the dashboard have started to rise. Also, the shiny plastic thing on the doors (around the windows) have also started to become unglued. Today, the passenger seat airbag is on. It always shows off when I don't have a passenger and there is nothing weighty on that seat.
I'm worried what else would start falling apart. I am so disappointed I am ready to trade it in but afraid I would lose so much money on it.
Has any else been having issues with their '07 MDX?
Sounds like you have a solid case of lemon. I strongly recommend that you contact a lemon law attorney to consider your options or search online. http://www.lemonlaw.com or 1-800-LEMON-LAW are two good places to start (and no, I am not affiliated).
Good luck!

Just keep in mind that people posting here are the ones having problems. It could very well be that the 07 MDX is full of problems in general, but I wouldn't base my decision on this message board alone.
What exactly did the dealership replace to stop the suspension noise?
I own a Jeep GC and I wish I could say you were wrong. I owned two Acura Integra's before the Jeep and I can't remember having any problems other than maintenance stuff. The Jeep on the other hand, err, well, it's a comfortable car and it looks good. I can still hear the radio over the road noise if I turn the volume up really high. Oh, and the A/C still works sometimes, at least on the driver side. I have also been lucky with the break rotors because I have about 20k miles on the last ones I replaced and the car still doesn't shake too violently when I break. I think you get the idea. I don't consider these problems acceptable on a 5 year old car. But hopefully it does put reliability into perspective for the Acura MDX owners out there. There are of course lemons with every brand, but in general your odds of having so many problems with the MDX are much lower. So enjoy your rides! I will be trading in my Jeep very soon for a car that, umm, runs.
I loved the look, the ride was smooth as silk and the seats were super comfy.
The stereo was leap years ahead of the Bose in the Acura and the power seemed to be unlimited.
Unfortunately, it was a complete POS and was always being repaired.
My company has a Chrysler discount, and I could have gotten a new Jeep for 1% below invoice.
Pricing a new Limited, that was about $6,000 in savings.
I still couldn't bring myself to buy another one.
Too bad they're such crap... I loved mine.(When it wasn't broken)
I just wonder do you get that issue fix? :confuse:
Please email and let me know thanks for your time. pepsipesi@yahoo.com
Did you get that problem fix? Please let me know...Thanks

Also, on a lighter note, I had a terrible rattle in the back of my MDX, I thought it was the cover to rear compartment. Nope, it was the license plate bracket put on by the dealer. Gone! That was a simple fix.
I didn't mean to bash the Jeep. I actually think they are very nice cars and unbelievable off road and in snow. I have driven past many other SUV's that were spun out on the side of the road in the snow, not to mention the couple of times I actually went off road. The point is more to put the quality of Honda/Acura into perspective. Even if you end up having a problem or two with the MDX, that is still miles and miles ahead of some other cars with lesser reliability records (like the Jeep).
Sorry to inform you that nope, they have not fix it and the dealer does not want to give it another try to fin de root cause of the problem, they're just telling me that Acura support has not find a fix for the issue. I'm thinking on sending a letter to Honda of America to express my frustation, I may also take my MDX to another dealer to see what they say.
I will try to take my car to the dealer. Let's keep in touch and inform each others if we get this promble slove.
I tried with on/off position and still happened randomly.
It seems to me it is a form of powersurge (as if the lightening can turn on your TV and makes a loud popping sounds on your speakers). I think Acura is aware but does not want to admit that there is a problem. let me know if you finally find a solution to this annoying problem.
Anyone having issues with the Michelin Lattitudes? I think they suck. I feel every dip, bump imperfection in the road and they're 'jittery' at high speed. I'm bringing the Sport in with 1K+ miles next week to address the tire thing. If it's not the balancing, and they can't find any imperfections with the tires themselves, I'm changing them out and I'll throw them back on 6 months before my lease is up.
Bo.
Any other good tire options for the MDX?
I've been play around with switching out the base steering wheel for the wood one. I did a 4 hour trip with the base steering wheel; I don't like it. It's too small in diameter, the stiching is of inferior quality, and it's just where my hands grab the wheel. For longer rides, I was looking for a comfortable hand position but never really found it. Is the wood/leather wheel that much more superior to the base wheel?
A few nit picking issues while I'm at it...
-can't have am and fm station together on one band. must shuffle back and forth
-radio doesn't show who's playing on radio
-can't change audio specs while in AUX position
-can't keep outside temp on the dash visible
-back up camera is useless since i can't judge the distance to an object
-a/c keeps regulating itself on-off, on-off a bit annoying if radio is off
-rear view mirrors could be bigger
-leather seats wrinkle a lot, more than I'm used to and there's a big 'knot' just under the the headrest on the front passenger's side. It hits my wife in the head and is uncomfortable but I'm hoping they can fix it.
-Rear cargo cover accessory is cheap. Won't last 3 years, that's for sure
All little things, and I'm sure there are others (I've forgotten until I'm back in the car), but I can live with them. For a 46K+ vehicle you'd think they could have put in a sportier steering wheel in MDX Sport.
What are the 'nit pick' items on your MDX? Come on, VENT!
Bo
thanks
I never wanted an SUV, but I have in-laws to think about and a 5 seater was not an option at this time otherwise I would have opted for a 530Xi wagon. The MDX was really the best of the lot I looked at if you're looking for a solid 7 seater with lux appoinments, and I looked at everything before I went with the MDX. Volvo XC90 was horrendous as far as fit and finish was concerned, and was all over the road at higher speeds., The LR3 had way too much play in the steering and horrendous gas mileage, the Highlander Sport drove decently, but the Limited (which is set up nicely) was way too bouncy for me and certainly not in the same class as the offers mentioned here, but an option none the less. the Q7 was huge; a mini bus with nicer appointments The MDX actually had decent road feel. Not BMW X5 driving feel, but not that far off. I loved the X5 but too small a 3rd row option and just too expensive for what was being offered. I wanted to like the CX-9, but it wouldn't let me, and any of the Mercedes products just were not comfortable for me. The MDX provides a nice package, and you don't have to guess what it comes with due to the 4 options set ups.
I don't see quality control getting better anywhere. If you look at the other manufacturers like BMW, Mercedes, etc. It seems to get a little worse with every generation. A little sacrifice in materials here, there...
Bo.
Any one else having the same issue, if your not sure, go start your car and listen for it.
I also have the clunking noise from the rear of the car and my car is outside of the VIN number range on the service bulliten. I will address this at the first oil change also.
How nice is that response to deal with?
When you buy a new vehicle you expect it to be free of such noises, at least until you begin to rack up some miles! My Infiniti FX45 just past 70,000 miles, and only very recently I've experienced a slight rattle from the driver's side window - until now it had been perfectly quiet inside.
after all this now i regret buying an acura
I regret the purchase of this 07 MDX. It really sounds as though the rear suspension is about to fall off the car.
Bo.
I've had that done on another car after a regular balance did not get rid of the vibration I was having. It made a world of difference for me too.
Has anyone ever seen this on their car? I have never noticed body finish defects like this even on much older and cheaper cars. This should be fixed under warrant, right?
