    Hi Disla,

Does the additional $700 out of pocket mean you had $700 of negative equity in your Passat?
  • djs123djs123 Member Posts: 25
    Fxstb08,

I'm about to lease a CC Sport, and was wondering what would be a good deal. I have never owned a VW before and I have excellent credit. I'm in Arizona where the advertised price is 339 sign and drive. After taxes, it would come out to 370ish which I think is way too high. Please advise!

    Thanks!

    Hi, fxstb08,
It means that $700 were my 3 remaining lease payments due to VW; and instead that amount became a pretty positive equity in my hands that I can apply towards the NEW lease (or put into my pocket), as a result of me selling my leased car to VW Dealer instead of returning it.
That's a pretty sweet option to consider, because it EXPIRES after 90 days before the lease end passed.
I hope it answered your question.
  • DIMNJDIMNJ Member Posts: 101
Of course the advertised deal is high, it doesn't take the negotiated car price into consideration. Mine, for instance, was $2000 below invoice.
Why don't you simply take the provided residual and MF figures form the earlier posts, then try negotiating the car price as low as it gets, then calculate the monthly value based on $0 down (with about $1250 fees and taxes based on NJ's 7% sales tax rate).
It would then be your truly personal Sign-n-drive deal :)
  • djs123djs123 Member Posts: 25
    Disla,

The sticker is $30,120. Did your negotiated price of 26,950 have anything to do with you returning your car? Thanks so much for your help!
  • DIMNJDIMNJ Member Posts: 101
    edited November 2010
No, not at all. I first negotiated a new lease deal, then found out about the sales option and ended up not paying the remaining lease payments this way.
I kind of reversed-engineered the negotiated price, as the initial offer was 27,250 with $320/mo, then I negotiated the monthly price to $300/mo, which, in turn, lowered the negotiated price to $26,950. Don't forget about the $1250 incentive though!
  • djs123djs123 Member Posts: 25
I apologize for all the questions but what is the $1,250 incentive for and is that figured into your final price of 26,950? I just want to make sure I am well informed before I go in.
  • DIMNJDIMNJ Member Posts: 101
    djs123,
you could simply browse this month's posts, this incentive is mentioned there, as an incentive that VW gives to everyone this month. Don't be lazy in your research :)
    Good luck!
By the way, the lowest monthly payment with $1300 out of pocket that was offered to me was $289/mo(on a car with $30,120 MSRP). This one did not take any lease return into consideration.

cc lux plus, 36k 36/39 months.

    In Pa, regional lease cash?
    Owner Loyalty in effect?

    thanks in advance
  • gq0007gq0007 Member Posts: 1
    Sorry for sounding redundant.

I read on previous posts on variance on cash incentives. I looked on edmunds and vw sites, nowhere does it state a dollar amount for 2010 at least. Can someone tell if there is one for the Hawaii/Pacific region.

Does the sign and drive event apply to the 2010 models too?

    Great site and Thanks!

Hello cnote2. Volkswagen Credit's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 CC Luxury Plus with 15,000 miles per year are .00011 and 50%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier.

I believe that Pennsylvania is in Volkswagen's Eastern region. If so, there's a $750 cash incentive on leases of this car in your area in addition to the waiver of your first month's payment.

I'm not aware of any owner loyalty cash on this car at this time.

Hi gq0007. Volkswagen is not providing lease support on the 2010 CC any longer. As a result, it makes more sense to go with a 2011 model at this time if you really want to lease.

Is 365 a month with no money out of pocket a decent deal at 10k a year for a CC sport, sticker is 30120?
    36 months
  • DIMNJDIMNJ Member Posts: 101
    Hey, scarmen1,

I am not sure what the residual for 10K miles is, but $365 seems more than I negotiated a week ago for my 12K/year lease.
I recalculated it, using my figures($26950 - neg. price, $1025 fees, 7% tax) with no out of pocket and it came up to $340.53, a 10K miles lease should be even cheaper, so the answer is "No, it doesn't seem to be a great deal". I hope it helped, good luck!

Seems high to me. I recently leased a 2011 sport with dsg for $349 month for 36 months 15k per year with $500 down. Shop around and try going into the dealership the last day of the month. I have found that is when you get the best deals as the dealers are trying to make their numbers for the month. Good luck!

I paid $325 lic, and documentation fee

    Dear Carman,
I recently leased a 2010 CC Lux .Yesterday, Dealer's finance manager called me and told me that they are ready to offer ding and dent protection for 4 years free of charge because VW decided to move things this month and in order to give the package, the contract needs to be redone! It sounds a little bit fishy.
I leased it in Nov 1st and here is the detail:

    MSRP: $38070
    Selling price: 31677.70
    Gross capitalized cost: 32303.70
    Cap reduction: 3240
    residual: 17131.50 (45%)
    mf: 0.00096
    Rent charge: $1579

    base monthly payment: 375.29
    monthly payment tax: 34.7`
    Total monthly payment: 410.00

I don't know the price of that package and why VW or the dealer has decided to give it free of charge three weeks after the deal is closed. Maybe they marked up MF too high and now VWCREDIT does not authorize the contract. Something similar happened once to one of my friends with nissan. I really don;t need dent protection package and not comfortable with redoing the contract. Let me know what you think.

    Thanks

    Frank

    Yolesm1,

It looks like you got a great deal to me. My deal was very similar except I did not get the extra warranty to cover me from 36k - 45k (I wish I had asked for that).

I put $500 down on a 2011 cc sport w/ DSG (included first payment)
Ended up paying $349/mo including tax
    36 mos/15k year
  • yolesm1yolesm1 Member Posts: 2
    Cool thanks...

My friend who buy domestics said I got ripped.
but for $344 a month, warranty covering up to 45K, taxes, and 15k a year I am thinking $344 is pretty good.

    thanks for the response

    HI Car_man,
I am looking for a 2011 CC Lux for 36/15K miles. Have the MF or residuals changed at all from the .00011 and 50% you mentioned for November? Will the numbers be different if I went for a CC Sport?

Also, I am in Northern California (94518) if this matters. What are the December incentives?

    Thanks

Looking at a 2011 CC R Line lease (Sport) 6 spd manual. I was quoted 369 x 36 inc tax (TX) with 0 due at signing. This quote is on a BASE CC 6 speed manual, however, My thinking is that the R line package is a 1,000 option, shouldnt I be able to get this car for @379 WITH the R line? Thoughts, comments? Dealer showed a discount of nearly 5k on the base model, though VWs markup was much more marginal than that, also, they dont even have the car in stock! I'd gladly take the showroom floor model R line at the right price!

Hi archmod. The numbers for the Luxury are still the same. The 36/15k numbers for the Sport are .00003 and 53%.

Volkswagen is currently providing a $500 cash incentive and waiving the first month's payment on leases of this car. There is additional cash on it in select regions.

    Hi CarMan,

I was hoping you could help me to see if either of the 2 deals below are good deals. Here are the deals I was offered from a NJ dealership for a 2011 VW CC Sport w/manual trans. I'd like to get the 36 mo/15,000 mi lease, but I was also looking to pay no more than $300/mo, if that were possible for either lease. HI Car_man,

I am looking to lease a 2011 CC Lux plus for 36/15K miles. I'd appreciate if you can provide details on the current MF, residual.

Also it doesn't appear there are any incentives at this moment, correct?

    Thanks.

Ok, so I got an offer for $349 a month with drive off fees of $2743 (the negotiated price was 29,990, MSRP at 34,750) for the 2011 CC Lux Plus. I am not sure what money factor or residual value used (I assume these to be .00056 and 54% respectively based on my calculations.) How does one get the current values (since most dealers are reluctant to divulge these numbers?)

    Is this a good deal?

    Thanks.

    Hi gang,
I am doing research on leasing. I had a Toyota dealership e-mail his lease worksheet, the residual was 64.4%.Most of the other cars that I peruse on these forums at between 55-58%. How should I interpret this? Also, what's the correct way to analyze the money factor when considering a lease?
    Thanks,
    David

    Here you go dan412.

Volkswagen Credit's January buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 CC Lux with 15,000 miles per year are .00097 and 50%, respectively.

When negotiating your lease on this car, make sure to take advantage of the $2,500 cash incentive that is currently available on leases of it.

So, this is the deal I got recently....in the worksheet:

2011 CC Lux Plus (with Protection + pkg)
    36m / 10k miles/yer
    Money Factor: .00066
    Residual: 52%

    MSRP: $35,120
    Neg. Price $29,538
    Gross. Cap Cost: $29,538
    Monthly pmt:$350 (excludes tax)

    Sales tax upfront: $1,180.38 (NYS)
    DMV: $177
    Sec. Dep: $0
    Bank fee: $625
    Doc. Fee: $75
    Adj. Residual Amt**: $18,070
    Total Term Depreciation***:$11,468
    Drive off fees: (1st pmt + bank fee + DMV + doc fees + taxes ) = $2407

Can someone help me do a sanity check on these numbers. My calculations (using the MF and Residual), do not give me the same monthly payment. It doesn't seem like the figures for adj. residual amt and total term. depreciate are correct. I need to verify this as I am taking delivery in a couple days.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi trmiami. I'd be happy to help you out.

Volkswagen Credit's January buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2011 CC Lux Plus with 12,000 miles per year are .00066 and 51%, respectively.

The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year is 1% higher.

Volkswagen is currently providing a $2,500 cash incentive on leases of this car.

    Hi,

I am looking to find out if there are any incentives that you know of on the CC? I know that during December 2010 they had their sign and drive event, and wondered if you knew if it would be coming back anytime soon?

Also - Is it worthwhile waiting for this incentive or do you think deals of equal value can be found...?

    Thanks in advance,
    Matt.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi Matt. Volkswagen isn't currently running its Sign Then Drive Event. I'm sure that they'll run it again at some point, but it's difficult to say when. If I was in the market for a CC, I personally wouldn't wait around for a sign and drive offer. Other then the fact that the first payment is waived, the sign and drive offers aren't that much better than what's running right now.

In February Volkswagen is providing a $1,250 cash incentive on leases of the 2011 CC 2.0T Sport and $2,500 on the CC 2.0T Lux or VR6.

In addition to this cash, there's special lease money factors on this car as well.

    Hi Car_man,

Thanks for all the info! I'm also looking to lease a CC Sport. I went into a local dealership this past weekend and when I asked the salesguy if there were any cash incentives, he shook his head "no". The only deal he would acknowledge is the one on the vw website (3000 down, 299/month). Are cash incentives something that dealers aren't very upfront about?? Should I avoid this dealership or salesman in the future?

Also, when negotiating the price of the car, is it wise to negotiate as low as i can before even mentioning the cash incentive (assuming the dealer hasn't brought it up either)??

Also, since the 2012 cc's just came out, does this have any affect on the sales figures for 2011s? Should we be able to negotiate a better deal? Since the 2011s are now a year "older," do their overall residuals go down?

Lastly, could you please post the special lease money factors for February that you mentioned above?

    Thanks so much in advance!!!

Thanks very much Car_man - your advice is really appreciated. You mention special money factors - what are these? I am looking to see if i can get in a 349+tax per month with 0 down deal - maybe just paying the first payment and licensing ... similar to sign and drive.. thats what i hope anyway as i dont think i will do better that that??

    Thanks again!

    Hey,
I am not sure, what the current MF/residual figures are, but would advise you to try SELLING your current lease (Jetta) to the dealer you are looking to lease CC from, instead of returning it.
You could do it BEFORE 90 days until your lease termination expire and would save at least $960, if the car is worth its residual+960.
I did the same thing when I leased mine back in November.
    Good luck!

    Hi Car_man!

Can you please provide the February special MF as well as the residual for 3 years/15k miles for a 2011 vw cc sport (with DSG)? Also, can you please the same information for the 2012 version of the exact same car? I'm trying to figure out which one will be a better deal (i have no preference for one or the other otherwise). Are there any cash incentive for leases of the 2012 cc sport?

Another quick question if you don't mind - I looked on the Edmund's Incentives page for the vw cc and when i typed in my area code, I didn't see anything mentioned about the $1250 cash incentive you mentioned above. I live in Southern California. Are the special cash incentives available here?

    Thanks!!
