Where are you getting this "no rebate" info on Toyota? According to dealer websites, there is still a $750 to $1000 rebate on Siennas in NY and NC which runs through Aug. 1st.
  • 96corolla96corolla Member Posts: 94
You are right, apparently in NY, there is still a 1K rebate. However, is come regions(the PA one), the rebate has been removed. The fact that it is still available in certain regions does give those of us hope that it will come back.

It's a $3000 manufacturer to dealer incentive on the SRX. Pretty well corresponds to the $3000 drop in the employee price this month.

after two weeks of shopping around, the best price we could find on a Sienna LE with pacakge #3 was $27,990. Of course no rebates are available for July (I am in PA). Does this seem like a fair price to pay? Opinions pls...thanks!
    =============================================================
Did you get this price before or AFTER July 4th?

I posted earlier that the "rebates" were still available in certain states, HOWEVER, I was just told that, while the customer rebates are still there, the DEALER INCENTIVES were removed after July 4th.....and the price I was quoted BEFORE July 4th is NOW $600 MORE on a Sienna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is just unbelievable to me in a climate when the US companies are offering the best prices ever. Grand Caravan or Chevy Uplander, here I come!

    Anyone else have this experience?

How much did the Maxx have in rebates in May?
  • umpa1umpa1 Member Posts: 4
I got this quote before July 4th, but was told it did not include the rebate. Went to close the deal yesterday--after reconfirming the price and the "sales manager of the day" renegged and said they couldn't do it for $27990 anymore. The new price was now $28,790. So I guess you can say I had a similar experiece LOL.

To add insult to injury, we wanted to lease the car and they basically gave us the worst lease terms in the world--$386 for 36 months. The never even asked for my info to run a credit report. Do these people think we are totally STUPID? Needless to say, we walked away from the deal.

Does anyone know if Lexus is running any lease deals in July as they did in June (Ended July 5th).... I am in the market for an '05 RX 330... If anyone has any info on upcoming Lexus Lease Deals it would be greatly appreciated. - THANKS

I'm glad to see that there is someone else out there who doesn't wet their pants over shiny-new sheetmetal and the new car smell. Yes, I do think dealers think we car buyers are STUPID, because most buyers, once they have their sights locked in on these items, invariably cave in. So, if you were the dealer wouldn't you try the same thing, doesn't your family like to eat steak and lobster sometimes ?

When will people learn there is ALWAYS another car out there and another dealer that might want a sale ? That's not to say that this other dealer hasn't done the same thing (as has happened to you) to other buyers, because I'm sure he has it's just that when they are hungry enough, they will deal. If there was one dealer that always gave the best deal all the time, there would only be one dealer in a given area. Who else would want to compete with such an honest and great guy ?

It's an awful thing this car buying thing !!!

    Hi Car_Man -

I am considering buying a new Lexus ES 330, but did not findany rebates or other incentives online. I will probably pay cash so financing incentives are not of interest. I would think Lexus would be aggressive these days with the 2006's coming out soon, so was hoping I could get one at or below invoice. Your thoughts?

    Thanks!

I have heard so many different stories on the dealer incentives for the 2005 Passat GLS FWD. In June it was $3500, but supposedly expired on 7/5. Now I hear it has been extended until 9/6. It seems the dealers that don't have the car I want are telling me it has been extended, and those that do tell me its too late. Does anyone know the truth about this? I am buying in New York, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks

I am in no hurry to buy a new vehicle, I have actually been looking for over a month. I am fortunate enough to have a family member employed by GM, and if I don't buy now, I can later, at employee price, BUT, if I wait, will I still be able to apply any rebate that would be offered at the time I purchase, to the price of the car? I know you can now, but do they prevent employees from using the rebate?
  • jjunkjjunk Member Posts: 12
GM employees are eligible for all consumer rebates in addition to the employee pricing. Sometimes there is additional employee "bonus cash" on certain models usually about $1000. Bonus cash has been slow this year. The last I recall was around March\April on Grand Prix, Impala and 9-2x.
  • chmartin79chmartin79 Member Posts: 2
I found a pontiac vibe for the employee discount of 17,900, plus an extra 1000 cash back to make it 16,900. Are there any other incentives out there to lower the price or is it worth haggling over. I saw on your website that the same model/make/options was going for the True Market Value after cash back for 17,900, so it doesn't sound like much of a deal as far as the GM pricing goes if the difference with or without the pricing is only 1,000 dollars. What should I do? Haggle or take the price?
  • nortsr1nortsr1 Member Posts: 1,060
If you have title to a non-GM vehicle (and I believe it does not have to be traded in on the Vibe)... I believe you would be eligble for the "Conquest $1000.00 incentive besides the $1000.00 GM rebate.Krstie (host) will be able to verify if she reads this post.

You'll probably have to give an idea as to where you're located as most manufacturer's programs are different depending on which area of the country you're in. I do know, however, that at least here in Buffalo, NY there is an additional $1,000 conquest rebate to those who have a non-GM vehicle registered in the household in addition to the $1,000 rebate on the Vibe regardless for the Month of July so far. (GM seems to change programs every other day)

Still have to pick up baby, so want to know what incentives and financing are available in total with this employee pricing gig. I am located in Northern NJ, and am picking up a 2005 Limited Turbo 4A, with other options. They are telling me that due to significant changes in the pricing program, rebates that were giving to me before the start of the special program are no longer applicable. I disagree. I tried to call Chrysler BIG BROTHER, but they were no help. So now, I turn to you.

Thanks in advance, glad you are feeling better.
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Thanks purplebug. OK, so you are interested in purchasing a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Limited Turbo in New Jersey. According to the latest information that I have seen, DaimlerChrysler is currently providing 2.9% financing for up to 3 years, 3.9% for 4 years, and 4.9% for 5 years or $500 consumer cash on sedans. The same financing rates are available on convertibles, but the customer cash alternative is $1,500. Good luck, and don't forget to stop back and let us all know how everything turns out.

    Car_man,

I am looking at the 2005 Sienna LE and would be interested in any information you have on incentives including the military incentive. I am in Mid Atlantic region and am considering traveling down to North Carolina if the incentives are as much higher as it seems.

Hi jdf15. Lexus is running special leases on a number of vehicles for July, such as the ES 330, LS 430, and IS 300, however to the best of my knowledge the RX 330 is not one of these models that currently has a special lease available on it. It is difficult to say what Lexus' lease program will be like for August. I expect it to introduce a new program on or around July 27th. Perhaps it will reintroduce lease support on the RX 330 then.

Hello Bob. You are right, it is very strange but I have not seen any mention of consumer incentives for the 2005 Toyota Sienna in Toyota's Central Atlantic region this month. There was support on this van in your area in June, so it is very strange that there wouldn't be any incentives on it in your area in July. If you travel to North Carolina, which I believe is in Toyota's Southeast region, there currently is 1.9% financing for up to 3 years, 2.9% for 4 years, or 3.9% for 5 years or $750 customer cash on the Sienna CE or LE and $1,000 on the Sienna XLE.

Recently I've seen several people suggest shopping out of one's home state to take advantage of incentives that are not available in certain areas.

What are the tax, title and registration implications of shopping out of state? I thought many DMVs required you to pay tax on the purchase price of the vehicle to register it. Would you end up paying tax in both states?
  • nortsr1nortsr1 Member Posts: 1,060
I have purchased several vehicles in NJ and live in Florida. You pay the sales tax for Florida and any local taxes. The dealer took care of everything in NJ and I received the title in the mail at my Florida home.I believe most dealers have some sort of agreement with other dealers in other states...for example...this was a Ford product and they simply had the Florida Ford dealer do the work after receiving the necessary paper work.

Alright guys, I've spent a couple of hours now trying to confirm something my dealer indicated today and I'm coming up dry. The big question...do the "Employee Discount" prices generated on the GMBuypower website include the rebates? If they do, I'm really confused as to why GM is listing the rebate and financing incentives on the site as well. There is no indication whatsoever on their site. Intuitively, it appears that the rebate would be IN ADDITION to the employee price listed. I'm thinking that the dealer is trying to pull a fast one and making a killing keeping everyone's rebates, but I could be wrong. I'm just trying to clarify one way or the other. The dealer claimed to have no supporting documentation either way. Thanks for the help!
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
Hi jjunk. Consumers who purchase new vehicles in states other than the one that they live are liable for their home state's tax. You will have to pay this tax when you go to register your vehicle in your home state. You definitely will not have to pay tax twice. If you end up having to pay sales tax on your vehicle when you purchase it, you should be able to get your home state to give you some sort of credit for the tax that has already been paid.

That is a very good question, carguys53. Any available cash incentives should be deducted from the purchase prices of vehicles bought through GM's Employee Purchase Program, however I do not know whether that has already been done to the prices that are listed on GM's sites, like GM BuyPower. There is a relatively easy way to find out though. General Motors' employee purchase prices for vehicles are calculated by taking their dealer invoice prices, subtracting dealer holdback (which in GM's case is 4% of the MSRP) and then adding a $75 charge. Both the MSRP and dealer invoice price of the vehicle that you are interested in should be listed in the New Vehicle Pricing section of this site. So you can figure out what the employee purchase price of any vehicle that you are interested in should be like using the data that is available here and see if the prices on BuyPower have had the customer cash incentives deducted or not.

I recently purchased a GM car and had the same question. If I am not mistaken, somewhere on the GM site when you click to see the employee price it tells you in small print that it is after applicable incentives.

I saw on the Chrysler site that they are still offering $1000 rebate for recent college grad. Thinking about the Pacifica. I'm an 03 graduate of a grad program, so I qualify for the Chrysler program. Would I qualify for this type of rebate with other car manufacturers?
  • big_bobbig_bob Member Posts: 6
My understanding of the College grad program is that it does not work with the new employee pricing plus on 05s but is in effect for the 06s. link title

Hi newowner1. Some manufacturers have cash incentives for recent college graduates and others do not. If you let me know which other models you are interested in, I would be happy to let you know if I am aware of any college grad cash that is available on them. Also, as Bob helpfully mentioned in the previous post, DaimlerChrysler's recent college grad cash incentives are not compatible with its Employee Purchase Program pricing for 2005 models.

    Car_man,

One of the Toyota dealers in the Washington DC area lists the college grad incentive as $750 instead of $400. I have not seen this any where else. Are you aware of any recent changes in the program or is this just another advertising gimic? I am thinking of get my Sienna this weekend because even without any incentives the price is a couple of hundred below invoice but I am leery that incentives may be back in August.

    Bob
  • toyotakentoyotaken Member Posts: 897
Like Toyota's other programs, the college grad program may differ depending on the area you're purchasing the vehicle from. The standard program is $400 rebate, but for example, here in NY the program was increased to $1,000 for a few months. So it is very possible that in DC it is $750.

    Hope this helps.

Hi carman, i'm interested in the mazda5, the vibe/matrix, the pacifica, or one of DCX's minivans. can you tell me about available/upcoming rebates or incentives on these models? I read on the mazda5 forum that there was some kind of Gerber rebate, but I don't know much about it.

Does anyone know of any rebates, incentives, etc on the Volvo V50? I'm considering the V50 and located in Nebraska. I know there are some incentives on the S40, but didn't know if those translate to the V50 or if it will have its own. Thanks in advance for any and all information.

Bob, the last time that I saw it, Toyota's national incentive for recent college grads was $400. I am not aware of any special enhancements to this program in your area, but it is possible that there is one. I have seen certain Toyota regions enhance the college grad program in the past. A couple hundred dollars below invoice is an excellent price for a Sienna, but I would not be surprised if Toyota reintroduced cash incentives on this model in your area for the month of August.

Hello cosanostra. In July, Volvo is offering 2.9% financing for up to 3 years or 3.9% for 4 to 5 years or $2,500 dealer cash or a special lease program on the 2005 V50. Volvo is also providing a $1,000 loyalty incentive on it to current Volvo owners and lessees.

You're welcome newowner1. Mazda is not currently providing any sort of incentives on the brand new Mazda5. I am not familiar with the Gerber program that you heard about. GM and DaimlerChrysler are allowing consumers to purchase the vehicles that you mentioned, the Vibe, Pacifica, and minivans through their Employee Purchase Programs. In addition to the attractive prices that are available through these programs, GM is providing 2.9% financing for up to 3 years, 3.9% for 4 years, 4.9% for 5 years, and 5.9 % for 6 years or $1,000 consumer cash on the 2005 Pontiac Vibe. I believe that is is also providing an additional $1,000 "conquest" incentive on this vehicle to current owners of competitive models. DaimlerChrysler is currently providing 1.9% financing for up to 3 years, 2.9% for 4 years, and 3.9% for 5 years or $2,000 customer cash on its 2005 model year minivans and the 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Toyota's incentives on the Matrix vary depending upon which one of its twelve regions you are in. I don't remember if you mentioned what state you are in, but if you let me know I can tell you exactly what sort of programs are available on it. I have to warn you though that the Corolla and Matrix have been selling very well and Toyota has been able to cut back on its incentives on them.

Thanks for the info. I too think the incentives may be back. However, I test drove the Sienna yesterday and it turns out that at 6'5" I do not fit comfortably in the drivers seat. My legs bump against the door and center dash console no matter how I positioned the seat. So it looks like I'll have to stick with either the Grand Caravan or the Town and Country which have more "knee-room" for me. So any wisdom on Dodge or Chrysler deals next month or should I snap up this months Employee pricing plus?

    Hello,
Can anyone advice me on how much to pay for a 05 Dodge Caravan SE (basic model). Taking into account the current employee pricing scheme, saw that edmunds.com suggests around $15,800.
But can a better deal be negotiated on top of this price ?
    Apprciate any inputs.

    Thanks !

    Car_man,

Is the Factory To Dealer incentive on the Honda Accord still: up to $900?
If so, does this amount apply to both the V6 and 2.4, or are there different amounts for each?

    Thanks
  • CarMan@EdmundsCarMan@Edmunds Member Posts: 38,514
You're welcome Bob. It is difficult to say what DaimlerChrysler's incentives will be like on its minivans in August, but if I was in the market for one I personally would get it now. Not only is the employee purchase program attractive, but all of the companies that are running this sort of program (GM, Ford, and DCX) are quickly running out of inventory of 2005 models.

Hi ganesh_prk. You may be able to get an idea of how much you will have to pay right now to purchase the Dodge Caravan that you are interested in by visiting the following discussion: "Chrysler Voyager/Dodge Caravan: Prices Paid & Buying Experience". Also, Dodge lists the "Employee Pricing Plus" price for the Dodge Caravan on the following page: 2005 Dodge Caravan Employee Pricing Plus Page. I don't believe that you will be able to find a dealer who is willing to sell you this van for less than the employee price minus the $2,000 customer cash that is currently available on it.

Carbuyer25, Honda's dealer cash is different on the Accord this month. Rather than an tiered objective based program, Honda is providing straight dealer cash on the 2005 Accord. Specifically, in July it is providing $1,250 dealer cash on '05 Accord coupes and V6 sedans and $750 on 4-cylinder sedans.
