I have been looking into a 2006 Ford Focus ZX4 or ZX5, and was wondering about Ford's "First Time Buyer" rebate. Does anybody know when this expires or any limitations of this rebate?
Wow, you got your Tahoe for $17,000 below MSRP, jvette. Great job! While the redesigned Tahoe is nice, I personally would much rather have a leftover one for that price. Enjoy your new truck.
I couldn't agree with you more, Mathias. Just when I thought that General Motors was on the right track in trying to lower sticker prices they go and pull something like this. If they would have stuck to their guns and at least provided dealers with dealer cash to move vehicles rather than creating the whole fire sale mentality again they might have been able to make the new pricing strategy work. Now all they've managed to do is lower sticker prices and still have to offer huge incentives. I guess that GM found that it's tougher to wean consumers off of the incentive drug than they thought. As if the fact that they are increasing incentives again wasn't bad enough, they leak the fact that they are going to do so to the press several weeks before the sales event starts. As you said, this will cause every smart shopper to wait several weeks before buying their new car or truck.
Hi thebutler. I believe that the incentive you are talking about is an offer to first time car buyers from Ford Credit. Consumers who are purchasing a new vehicle fro the first time and finance or lease it through Ford Credit receive a $500 bonus. this offer is available through 4/3/06.
Hello spotsndots. Through February 28th, DaimlerChrysler was providing its dealers with $3,000 dealer cash to help them unload their remaining 2005 Jeep Wranglers. I have not seen what its new March incentives program is like yet, but I should be able to give you an idea if you post a reminder in this discussion for me tomorrow.
"Of course" they're nuts .... I don't know who's worse, the unions or corporate management .. put em' both together and you "might" maybe have half a brain ....
... **And people wonder why the domestics have no resell value. Then complain when they try to trade them in two years later.**
Bud .. this coming from a saleperson at a Land Rover store.? .. isn't that the pot calling the kettle black...? .... c,mon Land Rovers are not what I would call "best sellers" at trade time ..l.o.l...
Yeah but we are better off then many of the domestics right now.
We don't have to offer huge rebates to move our product. The only rebates out for Land Rovers right now are 5,000 Dollars for 2005 LR3's. Probably less then a hundred left in the whole country we only have one ourselves.
6,000 Dollars for 2005 Range Rovers and last I checked there were only four left in the whole country.
Then there is 1000 or 1,500 dollars for V6 LR3s cause those models are just a little harder to move then the V8 models.
The Range Rover Sport just won an award for highest residual value in its class and the LR3 is listed as a four star vehicle with the ALG. Things will turn around now that Land Rover's build quality is improving. Now that they have a couple of years of cars out there with much higher relability and all of the 2002 mark II Range Rovers are out of warranty their warranty claims should drop consiedrably.
Thanks for the reminder, Ted. DaimlerChrysler is still providing dealers with $2,000 dealer cash on the 2005 Jeep Wrangler. Dealers also have the ability to earn another $1,000 per unit if they meet certain criteria.
Here's the latest on the rumored incentive enhancements, Mathias. During its sales conference call yesterday afternoon GM claimed that whoever wrote the aforementioned article was completely wrong. It does not currently have any plans to introduce a major national incentive enhancement in March, though this does not rule out the use of additional regional incentives on select models. I suspect that GM will at least run a major ad campaign in conjunction with March Madness. It will be very interesting to see what happens.
I AM IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING A 2006 Z71 TAHOE. HOW DID YOU GET THE PRICING $17,000 BELOW MSRP? CAN YOU PLEASE PASS ALONG SOME HELPFUL HINTS? THANKS!! SHERRIE
Like Charlotte, I too have been eyeing the 2005 Mazda6 wagons because there are still a lot leftovers to pick from in March 2006, and I can't afford the $28K sticker price of the Touring Edition. It seems the incentives have disappeared from Mazda's website. I was wondering what your info is as to what the manufacturer to dealer incentives are now.
Assuming the old $3000 straight rebate, $1000 MAC, and $1000 factory to dealer still exist, is it too far fetched to ask for $10000 off MSRP for a 2005? The 2006's have $2500 in rebates already, and for whatever reason, they don't have the acceleration throttle lag of the 2005.
Hey socal2. Mazda is currently providing $3,000 customer cash on the 2006 Mazda6. In addition to this cash, it is providing an additional $1,000 cash incentive to consumers who finance through Mazda Credit. I am not aware of any dealer cash that is currently available on this model, other than a potential $500 that dealers can earn if they hit their monthly sales objectives.
Given the fact that a base 2005 Mazda6 Wagon only has a spread of $1,900 between its full MSRP and dealer invoice prices, I highly doubt that you will be able to get anywhere near a $10,000 discount on this car. Shoot for dealer invoice, or slightly over, minus all of the available incentives.
I am thinking about purchasing an 05 wrangler X or sport. My local dealer has 23 of these and several so california dealers have a bunch in inventory. I was going to offer the dealer the "employee price" on the invoice minus the $3000 "hidden" incentive to the dealer? Does this seem realastic? This is a higher price ot the dealer that the local carmax is offering on their 05 wranglers . Currently carmax is at about .74-.78% of MSRP. I would appreciate any advice and or suggestions. I would buy @ carmax but I dont like the color selections there.
Hi meuseman. DaimlerChrysler introduced its 0.0% for 60 months offer at the beginning of February. It is not available on all Dodge models, just the Caravan, Dakota, Durango, and Ram Pickup. I wasn't aware that DaimlerChrysler was running a deferred payment program right now, but I have seen it do so numerous times in the past.
Wow, your local dealer still has 23 2005 Jeep Wranglers remaining. I'm sure that it will be very anxious to get rid of them. That's always a good thing for consumers. Dealer invoice minus the $2,000 dealer cash that is currently available on this truck and the additional $1,000 that most dealers qualify for ($3,000 total) is a fair price. For additional feedback on how much you should pay for this vehicle right now, you should stop by the following discussion: "Jeep Wrangler: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".
Thanks for the info. Actually this dealer has more than the 23-the 23 are just the sport and X models! Another dealer has 5 advertised at $4000 off MSRP and he hasnt sold one since the first of the year. I am very concerned about overpaying on a Wrangler since the used ones here is So . Calif arent moving either. I know the model is changing for 07 but I wonder if this is the same situationb throughout the rest of the country?? Thanks again for the advice.
You're welcome. Traditionally Wranglers have sold very well. That's what makes this glut of leftover 2005 models so surprising. As you mentioned, perhaps consumers who normally would want one are waiting for the arrival of the 2007 model. For feedback on how much you should pay for one right now, try stopping by the following discussion: "Jeep Wrangler: Prices Paid & Buying Experience".
... **Traditionally Wranglers have sold very well. That's what makes this glut of leftover 2005 models so surprising....**
Good point Car_man .... I gotta a funny feelin' somebody at that dealership might have punched the "order" button a few too many times in 2005, because most have been sold out for a looooong time ... this guy should be able to grab one for a song and a dance ....
Hi rokum17. Infiniti is currently providing $3,000 dealer cash on leftover 2005 FS35 models. Make sure to take this cash into account when making your offer.
Hey Car Man, Wondering if you know of any finance support for the CR-V EX or SE AWD models this month and April. I know they are running leases at 3.9% but not seeing any low interest financing and I don't know why that is. Also, since the redesign of this model will come out in October, do you think that finance incentives will increase over the spring and summer or would Honda wait until the fall? Thanks!
Hi brandloyal. Given your username, I take it that you currently own a Honda . Unfortunately, Honda is not currently providing any special financing rates on the CR-V. Honda was running a "President's Day" special financing program on just about all of its models at the end of last month (4.9% for up to 60 months for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier), but unfortunately that rate was not renewed for the month of March. The only incentive that Honda is running on the CR-V right now is a special lease program, which is actually quite new. It introduced lease support on this truck in mid-February for the first time in a long while. I suspect that Honda will increase its support on this truck as the model year progresses, but not significantly. Honda hates cash incentives and rarely provides low finance rates. The only model that it is running a special financing program on right now is the Element, and I was surprised about that. I suspect that Honda may sweeten its lease program on the CR-V a little bit in the coming months and possibly introduce dealer cash on it at the end of the model year. Of course, no one knows for certain what manufacturers will do with their future incentives until they are officially announced. The executives at Honda probably will not decide what the incentives will be like for certain until they see how sales are going.
Hey, carman & rrroyce - I appreciate your guys responses. I found a 05 solar yellow sport and i am thinking about making a way low offer on it this week. Actually I checked out this Jeep last June and it is still there! The local LA Carmax is advertizing their 05 wranglers at 70% of MSRP! Maybe this is just a so calif thing but wranglers dont appear to be selleing here. Will let you guys know if they accept it.
Hi everyone! I am new to this forum. I am currently considering to buy a new 2006 Toyota Camry LE. I am just wondering whether there is any current factory to dealer incentive on this model. Your information will be appreciated. Thanks!
In addition, do you guys think it is a good idea to purchase the "fighting chance"?
Hi luoshu. You really don't need to purchase anything to get a good deal on a new vehicle. All the information that you need is available for free here at Edmunds.com. Toyota is not currently providing any normal dealer cash incentives on the 2006 Camry. Having said this, Toyota is running a program right now through which dealers can earn up to $300 per unit if their hit certain sales targets. I suppose that this could be considered dealer cash. I would be happy to tell you what special financing and customer cash incentives are available on this car in your area right now, however in order for me to do so I need you to tell me what state you are in. This is important because Toyota's incentives vary depending upon which one of its twelve regions one is in.
I, too, am sidelined by the upcoming March Madness program. I am shopping a Grand Prix GT against a Lacrosse CXL or Lucerne CX for a lease. Which one are they most likely to load with an incentive?
Dear Car-man: Thank you so much for your help. I am in Minnesota. And I know they have $600 manufacturer to customer rebate (plus $400 for college students). I would appreciate it if you can tell me more. Thanks.
Hi rivieraranch. Apparently General Motors is actually going to enhance its incentives this month. I suspect that it will provide $500 to $1,000 in additional cash incentives on the cars that you are interested in. There's a catch though. You have to purchase a vehicle that as been in dealer inventory since October or November (the exact date varies by dealer). GM's "March Madness" program is officially scheduled to begin on March 16th. I'll look into it and see what I can find out for you. If you post a reminder for me tomorrow I can tell you exactly how much more money is available on the cars that you are considering.
You're welcome, luoshu. I believe that Minnesota is in Toyota's Chicago region. In that area, Toyota is currently providing up to $1,000 customer cash or 2.9% financing for 36 months and 3.9% for 48 to 60 months or a special lease on the 2006 Camry (in addition to the recent college grad offer that you mentioned).
If you post a reminder for me tomorrow I can tell you exactly how much more money is available on the cars that you are considering.
The General is getting complicated. I have been provided with an extra grand to "top off" my GM Card earnings. I may buy anything under the sun with it, except a few little things. Such as a Solstice, Vibe, or Aveo, to name a few.
The Colorado is still on the list. My salesman at the local Chevy dealer tells me a deal could shape up like this:
Reg Cab Colorado; sticker $16 University employees (and just about anyone in this town) get "supplier pricing": $15 I have $2 in GM Card earnings: $13 There is a $1,250 rebate on these things: $12 (talking round numbers) If it's been in stock long enough, there's another grand or $1,500 off: $11 There are these $250 coupons floating around, and that particular dealer is using the full four on any car for the rest of the month: $10
Dunno if "conquest cash" applies. Taxes will be about $1,000.
Am I the only one who thinks this is (i) not exactly transparent and (ii) a really great way to make people go do something else, when it's this difficult to know what the darned things cost even on a GMS deal?
FWIW, a similar Ford Ranger, endowed with a $2 rebate, comes to $12 + tax, which ain't a bad deal, and a lot easier to figure out.
Anyway, if ya get some details on the new program, I'd appreciate it if you'd fill us in.
..... **If it's been in stock long enough, there's another grand or $1,500 off...**
Can you believe that...? .. when we went to the dealers meeting they told us what a wonderful deal they (GM) were giving us -- and it is ..... but you need a translator from the UN to decipher all that junk .....
Looking to lease an '06 Buick Lacrosse MSRP $26,670.00, on lot over 120 days; vehicle qualifies for Ft. Lauderdale Auto Show Discount; also I have a $500.00 owner loyalty certificate and $1000.00 GM card earnings. What should payment be on a 36 month term, 15K miles/year, no down payment GMAC lease?
On the subject of the General's pricing structure:
Went in today to see if I can snag a Colorado cheap enough to have a "free" car over the summer:
MSRP (with dest.) is $16,690 There's a sticker in the front window informing the potential buyer that the MSRP has been lowered to $16,090 on Jan 11. It doesn't say whether that's with or without Destination, but it has to be... it's $600 off, and destination is $660. OK: $16,090 + TTL
I just had them work up the GM supplier price for me. It's $15,500. Huh? $590 behind MSRP? I didn't put it together until I went back to the truck and wrote down the numbers, but I think they're trying to take me for a ride... or they're confused themselves.
This is really frustrating... if I can't figure out what's going on, how is a once-every-three-years type of buyer supposed to figure it out? And if he isn't supposed to figure it out, why even bother putting out all these programs?
With the new incentive on trucks in stock since November, I can't do any research except calling the dealerships directly... and that's pointless, too... my salesman told me a certain truck qualifies; it turns out he was wrong... I would not have driven it had I not thought I could get it cheap.
What a mess. No wonder they lost $10,600,000,000 last year.
Hey Mathias. The Chevrolet Colorado has an additional $1,000 bonus cash on units that dealers have had in inventory since mid-October. The only GM models that qualify for $1,500 are Silverado or Sierra Extended Cab models.
Hi rivieraranch. I just created a new discussion for you over in the Prices Paid Forum. This question would be more appropriate for that area. Here is a link for you: "Buick LaCrosse: Lease Questions". If you post it there, along with the full MSRP (with the destination charge added in) and the approximate selling price of the car that you want, I would be happy to use GM's actual lease program to estimate what your lease payment should be for you.
Hi tdepoala. This particular discussion is more for questions about cash incentives and special finance rates. Please post your question about leasing this truck over in the following discussion and I will be happy to answer it for you: "GMC Envoy: Lease Questions".
2006 Pontiac Vibe base w/ 4 speed auto, preferred package, and monotone appearance package.
$500 GM to buyer or 4.9% for 36 months $500 conquest rebate if you own an Import which I dod (the dealership told me about this which the other dealerships I went to didn't) $500 march madness if you buy a vibe built before 10/12/05 (I didn't find this out until last night)
I'm a recent college grad and I'm buying my first brand new car ever. any rebates for these? I googled the internet and couldn't find anything. I already have preapproved financing through capital one for the 5.75% 60 month loan.
Hey Car_Man, I know there is an incentive for 06 volvo S60, but not sure about the details. Any idea? I got a quote from the dealer, S60 2.5T, Automatic, Metallic paint, premium package for $32,300. He said he can go lower after he talks to the manager. But how much do you think he can lower? Thanks a lot.
I just got an e-mail telling me I qualify for an extra $500 in Mazda loyalty cash on top of all current incentives. Any idea what the incentives look like on 2006 B-Series or Mazda6? The web sites all say that the pickups only have $500 cash, which I find hard to believe.
I live in Memphis, TN and I'm thinking of purchasing either a Pontiac G6, a Toyota RAV4, or a Toyota Matrix. I see that all of their current incentive programs for financing and cash back are ending on April 3rd or 4th. I was hoping to be buying approximately 1 week after that. Do you have any information on if their incentive programs will improve after those dates?
Comments
When I first read this I thought you paid 15,176.10 for a particular vehicle cause I did not read the subject and just skimed the text.
I can't imagine selling a car for anything more then 5,000 dollars off let along over 15,000 dollars.
I didn't see it on Edmunds rebate page for the Focus:
http://www.edmunds.com/new/2006/ford/focus/100578102/incentives.html#rebates
Thanks in advance.
How about March incentives for 06's.
I'm getting ready to take the plunge on a Rubii in the middle of March and just looking for the best incentives out there.
