In Atlanta, black is the kiss of death, esp. in the summer. White or pearl would be good, too, I guess. Just make sure YOU like it; it's your money.
The worst thing you can do is get an "in" color that everyone has to have now and that will look dated in the future... like no-sale green, which was hot in the mid/early nineties.
In Germany, you can't give away white cars, and red isn't good, either. In Mexico, black is hot. Go figure.

I just thought your post was a bit coarse and I'm sure others did as well.
That's all and good luck shopping.

If they would have said $23,5 I could understand them trying to back out on a mistake .. but $25,5 was a fair retail figure for both you and the dealer, $27,9 was high retail, no matter it's January and it's 15 degree's in your neck of the woods .. if was me at $25,5, you would have been "busting bugs" so fast you would have thought a laser light was a dessert entree' ....... :^)
Terry.
South of the Mason/Dixon line the lighter colors ALWAYS do better .. white, pearl, light tan, sand, silver, light metal blues, stuff like that .. no blacks, no dark maroonish, no dark blues, greens, junk like that ...
Let's see what the Eagles can do .. gheeez, those Colts.! (..shaking head..)

I asked you about my Havasu Blue Mdx before.
It is a base model with no other options, 11800 miles. You told me I could get around 27k to 28k.
I wanted to trade it in for a 2004 Diamond Graphite G35 coupe with only Premium Package.
The dealer wants 7k plus my mdx. Is it a good deal??
That is all.
p.s. Not a bandwagoner; New England born and raised. :-)

I was driving to the car show today and saw a "Mary Kay" pink car at a buy here/pay here lot. On the way back I just had to pull in and check it out.
If you have never heard of Mary Kay, it's a cosmetics business/self employment type of thing, generally women sell cosmetics out of their home or have parties (like Tupperware parties). If they sell enough, they are given a new car painted in the company color which is pink.
Anyhow, here are the details on the car. 93 Pontiac Grand Prix, 4dr, 3.1 V6, 94,515 miles. Notation on window sticker "Will not guarntee air". Hmm.
Anyone care to guess the price? The payment on the windshield is $54. A week. Asking price $6,595.
Must be a collector's item!

is advertising $4500 off 2003 on the coupes.
I would also suggest you try grubbs in Dallas TX.
These 3 sources should be able to do better than MSRP on the coupe. Also give freshalloy.com (user group 4 nissan/infiniti enthusists.
Good luck.
Thanks!

Me, I am still liking 'no sale' green. tan/biege cars all over is boooringggg.
As an example, the VW Beetle has had quite a collection of the "in" colors, the light greenish pastel color, then they also made that light bluish non-metal color and obviously these cars sold new, -but- when you go to sell them used, then things get ugly - I have seen them do $800/$900 less at the auctions, BMW makes this rosy pinkish metal Sable color on their new "7" and you can't flat give that one away, it's a $2,500++ deduct ..
Like I always say: "buy and drive what you like", just be careful of the color of it ......
Terry.
But in your case in Chicago, "busting snow flakes" ........ ;-)
Terry.
BTW, I also think that the current Nissan interiors will be a problem with their clunky, "futuristic" design. 2002 futuristic is NOT going to look very modern in 2008.
For ideas on how it's done, check any Audi or BMW of the past 10 years and forget i-drive.

I've said before that guides don't buy cars, people buy cars. When you get a real trade number from a dealer, or a real offer from a consumer in private sale, those are the only concrete numbers you'll ever get on your vehicle.
Hope this helps.
Where would you hit this on a dealer trade:
2002 Toyota Solara SE Coupe 4 cyl
15,250 miles
Maine
Dk blue exterior, tan cloth interior
Auto
AC, PW, PL, JBL CD, cruise
15" alloys
Sport pkg
Power driver seat
Power moonroof (factory)
No parking lot kisses or french fry invasions. Looks new.
Mark
As clean as you say it might be, I doubt any dealer is going to put $6,5 in a 99 Camry with 95k, especially when they are only doing the $4/$5,0's at the auctions and they can buy the 50kers for $6/$6,500 ....
Terry.
The reason why I ask is, alot of dealers would take a base 4-banger, slap a roof on it, put some wheels on it and/or a spoiler and "wango tango" you have a sport package .... I will walk the floors waiting for your response.
Terry.
Terry.
The moonroof is factory (see post). The sport pkg is a factory option pack. Gives:
Power drivers seat
15" alloys
Molded mud guards
Thanks!
Mark
So we have a 99 Beetle GLS with almost 75k, color is almost ok, we have a few meteorite hit's, it's a handshaker, a few K-mart kisses, if the service is 100%, deep round things, cold breeze .. then trade side, in and around the mid to high $5's, could "maybe" see the low low low low $6's depending on the dealer, the work and the miles are killin' ya here so I have a feelin' the fives will be the number, based on your description ...
The GLS Golf sounds a little nicer, miles are waay stiff and so is that shifter .. if it's a nice one, no kisses, no repaints, deep sneakers .. trade side, in and around the $6ish figure, again the miles and the handshaker are not your friends here ..
Good luck and let me know .!
Terry.
Its 55 below zero right now.
Terry.
I was supposed to take the explorer to town for winter tires, ha, not in this lifetime. Maybe tomorrow it'll be *warm* enough......at this point 30 below sounds good.
Terry ;-)
It's that no-sale blue, it's got no miles, we have the slider, we got some toys .. as long as there is no "oh oh, it's Maaco" and looks and drives newish .. then trade side, in and around the mid to high $11's, "maybe" could almost see $12 depending on the weather and the dealer ...
Let me know what happens ..
Terry.
I am thinking of purchasing one of these Hightop looking things. I am wondering what the 2003's are doing at auction. I am looking for one with the Premium package ($3k option), and around 15k miles.
I am also considering a 2004 Murano since my company has a program with Nissan and we can get the car at slightly under invoice. So I want to compare the used cost to the new cost.
Thanks so much.
Damon
Me personally, I would be lookin' at the LSI, low miles, 4 speed auto, we have the slider, probably the wheels, maybe the abs, cd with all the power options .. but not at $8,900, that's a 01 price with 10k .. let's just say the dealer lost his shirt in the play-offs, he might "could" have $5,500ish in it, ... if it's got a great history, no paint by numbers, deep round things, just a clean little machine, then it might be worth your while at that $7,5ish or less .. the other ones, figure $5,5/$5,9, depends on how long they have had them, the history and the condition ..
The only bad thing about these is, they start breaking down around 150/180k, then you have get up early on a Saturday, miss all the good cartoons and spend the time to find another one ~ what a drag .......... :-)
Let me know ..
Terry.
I don't mind buying cars from out of states.
But where can I sell my MDX?
Dealers are all trying to low-ball me.
and have no experience selling car privately.
Terry, the msrp for the G35 Coupe is about 34,400.
Thanks
Have a nice day (oop's, I hope even that doesn't offend you)
Terry.
In your case it does seem very strange but I'd chalk it up to more of being an anomaly then a trend.
Just my .02 worth
Duncan
PS Jolie,I hope you get a heat wave soon to bring it to 20 below! :-)
