No idea honestly.
Nothing going over the block.
It's worth whatever a Honda dealer wants to give you for it.
I'd call a couple of dealers, make sure you speak to the Used Car Manager and ask for a buy bid.
Figure trade in @ $5-6,000
Car would be worth more at the right time of year, or in a warmer market.
Figure that it will have a significant effect on the value
"We just spent $607.23 to get our Fit back in working order. A standard 20,000-mile service cost us $143, with an additional $67 air filter and $120 cabin filter replacement at our request. The front rotors were also warped. To turn them down and replace the brake pads we spent another $265."

Just got this a month ago thanks to GM repurchasing a lemon G6 I had, and I really love it, but after swapping over my old existing loan, etc. I've been wondering what the 'Bu would be worth real-world if I had the inkling for something else. Odd that it's so new and barely used, but still...what do you guys think on a trade? Straight sale?

This is the reason why I never buy GM products... Should have known better than to take this leap on American products...
Figure trade in @ $5-6,000
Thanks!
So their asking price of $6900 is pretty darned fair. Wonder how long they been sittin on it. Its at a Mazda dealer, by the way.
Ugh! So tempting, yet not a good time for me to buy a toy.

Ouch! That hurts a bit. I figured with the condition it was in (esp. the crunching coming from the steering) it would have been hard to sell myself.
Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that one person who wanted your car MAY have been out there.
On the other hand, you could have had that thing for sale for 3 months without getting a nibble. Then something else may have broken and rendered the car saleproof.
Used Cars are always a crapshoot.
And speaking of "max", I had already considered taking it to Carmax for an estimate, so I agree with you there. What makes them so different, just out of curiosity? What are their resale/trade in estimates based on?
I got interested in these a few weeks ago and was shocked at their depreciation. Take a look at completed listing on ebay to get an idea of what real money has been offered. It doesn't help that there seem to be ALOT of 'em for sale (lease returns?).
Do you think I could push a dealer to $7K? $8K? Or is that totally unrealistic?
Thanks.

I would appreciate input on trade in values I could expect. Thank you.
If the car was perfect, you might see $7,000.
Depends on how badly they want to sell you what they have.
I think that $8k is too much of a stretch.
So, the markup becomes less exalted.
Keep in mind that the amount of markup on a used car is immaterial.
It isn't what you ask, it's what you get.
Having a lot of markup can be helpful because you can offer a bigger discount.
Makes the buyer think they got a better deal.
Any advice for approaching a dealership for a trade on a 2008 4WD-EX or EX-L or should I just go for a 09?
I figure I should spend to support the economy...I just don't want to be tooo supportive.
The '08 & '09 CR-Vs are identical. If your dealer is willing to significantly discount the '08 - it is, after all, a year older - & if you plan to keep this car for 5+ years, I'd pick the older car.
I strongly suggest that you take a shot at selling your CR-V yourself. I can tell you from personal experience that there is much demand for used Hondas - at least there is down here - & you will have no trouble selling your car for considerably more than a dealer would give you for it. For one thing, you can count on a dealer to give you a hard time because your car is a stick. He'll use that as an excuse to lower your trade-in allowance. ("Well, you know, there isn't much call for sticks these days, so we can't give you as much for it as we could if it had an automatic. Sorry.") But if you market your car yourself, you might well find a buyer who wants a CR-V with a stick.
FWIW, I sold a 12-year-old Accord, equipped with a stick, in 1 day to a cash buyer. I netted at least $1K more than I would have gotten from a dealer.
I am looking for a trade value for a 2007 Nissan Maxima SE, Pearl white, tan interior, driver's preferred package (heated seats, steering wheel, back up sensors, power sunroof, Bose and Satellite Radio).
Car is like new, no door dings scratches, interior and exterior are immaculate. No paintwork, tires 50% treadlife left. All maintenance is up to date. Car is located in NC. It has the CVT transmission. It has 26,000 miles on it.
Thanks,
nceil
Wow, that hurts....$15k for a year and half old car loaded that cost about $33,000 new.
I guess depreciation is not your friend when it comes to Nissans. Or most used cars these days. I am sure that I would just need to sell it myself then.
Think it is unreasonable to expect $20,000-22,000 in a private sale?
I think it's not really b/c it's a Nissan but:
1. it's an old design
2. People can get a new '08 at dirt cheap b/c of the new design '09
3. 26K miles on a less than 2 years old car = kind of high, imo
4. Bad economy = people don't want the 6cyl.?
I am looking at an 06 Volvo XC90 V8 with premium, sport, climate and versatility package. Basically everything except DVD and NAV. Milage is 21,300. I am in Cincinnati, OH. The price is $23,000 and they won't budge. It's not from a Volvo dealer so vehicle is not certified but is still under factory warranty. Is this a good price??

Don't worry, I won't skate you on it. Too far away.
anyway, I did almost buy the same car in bule, but with about 30K on it, a few months back but it got sold just before me. Think it went for about 21K as a certified VW. No navi either.
