I have just started looking at Siennas. I have gotten 4 quotes so far on 2010 XLEs and all have been discounted approximately $3000. That for an '10 model. SW OH.
I am finding very few Toyota vans in inventory.
Origionally was shopping for Odyssey. At one time they were 6K off MSRP, but incentives ended earlier this month.
Thanks!
"The 2009 that I have here was a demo car (3600 miles) and has Package #2 with Alloy Wheels and floor mats--I can sell it to you for $25,755 plus sales tax and DMV. For the 2010, I can sell one to you for $26,455 plus sales tax and DMV."
NY currently has a $1000 rebate until August 3rd--can someone tell me how important it is to get in on a rebate--I'm wondering if they might mark up their cars an extra $1000 during the rebate period and you're paying the same anyway (or maybe I'm paranoid-please advise!)
many thanks

rolz, where did you get that deal in NJ? I am trying to do better than 24,800.
Can you let me know the location/dealer--maybe I can use this to negotiate with my upstate NY dealers. Or Rolz--any recommendation on your NJ dealer? thanks in advance!
Thanks again!
thanks for your post, very informative.
This was the first time I've seen that the Sienna costs more to insure than the Odyssey. I'm guessing that it's due to the crash test results.
The lock out feature on the NAV is a real bummer. Nissan/Infiniti does the same thing. They should have an override feature or a sensor in the passenger seat.
I have an 05 Odyssey Touring and have been fairly satisfied with the exception of: PAX run flat tires, the brakes, road noise/suspension, fuel efficiency.
The PAX and the brakes have been discussed ad nauseum on this site so I want pile on there, but I really thought the fuel efficiency would be better with the adjustable cylinder engine (don't recall the technical name but our version shuts down half the cylinders under certain situations to save gas). I think we're averaging around 18 - 19 mpg, mostly city miles.
I feel like I can be doing better, but cannot seem to make any head way... What do you think?
I test drove the LE today with option 2, loved it so much more than my current Odyssey. The saleslady said that they could go much lower than the price listed on the sticker which was $28,190. What would be a fair price for this van?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
We are interest in purchasing a 2009 Sienna LE with the QP package. We live in Central new Jersey ( East Brunswick / Edison area.
1. Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with any dealers in that area
2. what should we expect to pay?
Does it pay to wait for the 2010 models - what upgrades are there and what would i expect to pay vs the 2009
thanks in advance
D
In my area of OH the 2009s are almost gone. Most are the 2010 models. Some dealers are discounting the 2010's by $2500 to $3000 for internet sales.
2009 LE AWD

Tow pkg
MSRP $31,175
Your price is $28,686 + Oregon lic/title
2009 XLE AWD
Extra value pkg 3
JBL pkg
Fog lights
Tow pkg
MSRP $36,120
Your price is $32,917 + Oregon lic/title
They do have some of the XLE’s without the EVP pkg 3 that would knock off about $1000.
Estimated Pricing*
MSRP
Base $29,725.00
Options $1,824.00
Manuf. Delv, Proc, & Hndlg $795.00
Subtotal $32,344.00
Dealer Fees $570.00
Total $32,914.00
I assume 3% tax = 937, Admin fee =400, Tag=80? Seems like I got 3000 off MSRP?
All dealers have 2010 in-stock, not 2009. If you are interested, provide me your email id, let us form a team, we may able to negotiate better deal.
I have another question, does XLE Pkg 3 includes Pkg 2 + Pkg1 options?
Pkg 2 = Pkg 1 plus moonroof
Pkg 3 = Pkg 1 + Pkg 2 plus rear DVD.
Other small goodies in each pkg.
29K sounds pretty good. What is msrp?

To get the best price and avoid wasting your time, gas and meeting people....
Follow my Buying Suggestions.
1) Do your online home work for the car, that you want ( re ability, spec, pricing....you can find a lot of info here in Edmunds or Truecar.com to check how much people they are paying for it .
2) go to the nearest dealer to meet the car in person and go for test drive .( make sure that you really want it )
don t let the sales person push to buy .....just say i am checking the car.
3) contact the internet sales department through their website .
Do not provide a phone number to avoid receiving 100 call a day
you will be receiving offers through your email.
Lets say you are buying sienna, email them back Ask this questions.
Its CE . LE XLE ???
Its 2009 or 2010 ???
its 7 or 8 passengers ???
which packages included in the price and what its included in this package ????
If there is any accessories there not included in the price ???
for how long this offer is valid.
only real deals will show up in your email box .
they will know you did your home work .
99% of the sales people, they just want you to come by to their dealership to push you to buy.they have different tactics .
just print the deal that you like make an appointment with the sales person.
before you leave your house/office make sure that the car still in stock for sale.
some of them when you get there they just say my coworker just sold it but i have other one.( other color ,or higher price )
4) in the dealership
don t make an offer just ask him what its your best offer.
good luck
