driver front power seat control failure

The control for my driver's front power seat keeps going...the fuse has been changed a couple of times, there were bare wires making contact under the seat that they placed conduit over....it is in again today (just was in yesterday) for another attempt @ repair. Anyone else experience this problem??? What was your fix?

    Hello Booboo8115,
I am from GM Customer Service. Is your vehicle currently at the dealership or are you fixing the vehicle yourself? Can you please email me so I can look into your situation further? You can access my email by clicking on my name. Thank you,

The car was repaired @ the dealership. I just got home with it repaired.... They said someone had re-routed wiring under the driver's seat into the wrong channel, it needed to go through the middle & it was going to the left one. Hence, when I would put the seat to the lowest setting, it would short out. (I am tall & don't like my knees in the dash & I like to sit lower than most people I guess)
They were great with the repair...tried for 3 tries. Hopefully this fix will hold....time will tell. Does this sound right?, what they did I mean??
    Thanks for your reply!

    Hello Booboo8115,
I am glad to see they got your vehicle fixed. :) If it was causing a failure because the wires were in the wrong spot then it should be correct. I cannot say for certain because I cannot see the vehicle for myself. But, the information sounds correct. Keep me posted if anything happens. Thank you,

I have a 2008 Malibu with 61,000 miles. The driver's seat front to back movement has just stopped working totally. About a month ago it was working, if I tried the switch a few times. The other directions are working. Has anyone had any experiences with this failure? A short or bad motor? In either case, sounds like a lot of labor hours to fix at the dealer.

I have the same problem with my Malibu. Did you get it fixed? How much did it cost?

I decided to take it in to my local chevy dealer to get it fixed in June 2012. It cost $245 total. The problem was the seat track was jammed. They did the following: dissasembled seat track, lubed run channel, retimed movement mechanism, and reassembled seat track. It has been working fine since then. They also gave me the option of replacing the seat track, since they were not totally sure the other option would work, but the cost of that was about $1,000.
