yes brand new 2007 odyssey, 7 miles on it, $22,000 even, but no tax/tittle. I live in SC and tax's fair, max=$300.

nonetheless, i think yours was a good deal too.

    Hi,

Thanks for the info. Do your numbers include TTL? Good luck with your new van!

Thanks joeblow. Are the taxes on new cars in VA still 3%? If so, that's about a $600 difference between the VA & MD dealers (at 5%), right? I mean it's all about the OTD price, but that has to be figured in somewhere.
  • bugsntbugsnt Member Posts: 2
Would you care to share what dealership you were able to get this price?

Also - I am assuming that this deal took place while the $750 dealer incentive was in place.
  • joeblow_07joeblow_07 Member Posts: 6
Yes, OTD price means everything: Taxes, Tags, License, Dealer Add-ons, etc...

Also, these OTD quotes are w/ sales tax = 5%.
I live in Maryland, but bought in Virginia.

Thanks again for the info. Here in Nebraska after we purchase a car we get our title, tax, and license at the Department of Motor Vehicles. They give you thirty days from your purchase date to pay for the TTL and get it all taken care of. You can just drive around for 30 days with no plates and a sign on your window saying: "in transit" and the date your 30 days is up.

    Hi,
    'purchased a 2007 EX-L with DVD RES(no NAV) from Friendly Honda @Poughkeepsie.
    Total Price : 30,500 + TTL/Taxes
Base Price : $29,449 (including destination)
Options : $1091 [All Season Package : $383 (all weather mats for 3 rows + cargo tray + Front & Rear Splash Guards )
Fog Lights (420 - including installation), Automatic Day/Nigh mirror ($288)]

This was the lowest quote I had received from the Tri-state area after the $750 incentive was taken off in July.

'had a pleasant experience with the dealership and the sales person (Mr.Frank Buccione)...no hassles..no hidden costs like Admin or documentation fees..no lengthy discussions about Extended Warranty.

BTW, while trying to extend insurance coverage from Geico for this new vehicle, I found that Geico has a unique feature "Mechanical Coverage"..which covers cost for repair/replacement of any mechanical failure...which is like an Extended Warranty. Hence decided not to take Extended Warranty.

    Folks,
Just one more info - If you are looking to add the fog lights on the Odyssey..its not very useful, does not help much. not sure if it is because of the place it is fitted or the quality.

I have fog lights in my 99' accord and that rocks..very useful during heavy rains, fog & snow time

Any tips on trying to get the Salespeople to go below invoice. In the region I'm in I basically can't get any dealer to go 1 cent below invoice for a EX-L with RES which is $30,200

    selenium,

Are you the 34th element? Anyway, I am in Omaha, Nebraska and am having the same trouble. Where are you located? Thanks.

Your very first post yells about a rule violation?

Sounds as though someone is protesting too much and we can consider this as confirming the veracity of the post in question.

Help please...I am looking at a fully loaded (and the exact color combo I want) '05 Touring RES/NAV for $27,500 and 25,000 miles. This one has everything - heated seats, wind shields on windows, sunroof, hood. It is not a Honda dealer selling it.

On the other hand a Honda Dealer quoted $33,950 for an '07 Touring RES but not the exact color combo I am looking for. I don't know what incentives I can get yet.

Is it worth $6,000 more for a new one with full warranty and only 22 miles on it?

    Thanks.
  • cccompsoncccompson Member Posts: 2,382
Shop around - you should be able to buy the '07 for significantly less than the quoted $33,950. Likewise, what a dealer is asking for the '05 and what it will sell for are likely two very different things.

That said, at the end of the day the price spread is likely to still be on the order of 6K. Bear in mind that the '05 also has a back-up camera in addition to the navigation system.

While my two cents is that the '07 is worth the extra money, if you can buy the '05 for 26K or less you wouldn't be going wrong. At that price, it's a lot of car for the money.

I just talked to the assistant manager at a local dealership who said he couldn't go below 30,100 + TTL. He gave me some spiel that I better jump as the overall inventory of 2007 is getting low in anticipation for the 2008. Is there any truth to this or is he just trying to get me to jump. So far the best offer I found on the EX-L with RES is 29800. Thanks.
  • laurava01laurava01 Member Posts: 4
Could be true- at this dealership- most dealers (at least in my area) at this point are not going to get what you are looking for from another lot.. What I did was contact all teh dealers that had the color and trim I wanted and then bargain below a good price point. It was a lot easier for someone to negotiate if they have 3-5 silver ex-l with res (what i wanted) and overall around 12 ex=l's with res than one who only had a few.. it's worth a try.. good luck

$31,887 is a great price if it includes the sales tax?

Our price in DC w/sales tax (5%): $32,077
    w/out sales tax: $30,550

*this was on July 2nd when they had the $750 cash back to dealer incentive running.
  • vchourasvchouras Member Posts: 10
I got mine in $30,533 Vehicle price (includes destination but no sales tax) in southern cali. I guess that time they had $750 cash back incentives. Look at the post #15532 for detail price break.

    Hello,

I am shopping for '07 Honda Odyssey: EX-L With DVD and NAV in the San Francisco Bay Area. What would be a good OTD price for this package? Appreciate any help or advice in this regard... Thanks!

    Hi there,

I just want to make sure about your OTD so I can use it as a reference. The $30,533 is the OTD, exclude uncle sam's take, and that is for the EX-L with DVD and NAV? Thanks

    Hi everyone,
We are looking at a new Honda (2007 EX-L w/RES&Nav) and just got a quote from a dealer for $33,700 not including tax & license (invoice price is $32,0013; MSRP $35,490) I have seen here that they are going for a couple thousand less in San Diego. We have also heard that Odysseys are more expensive on the west coast than the east coast. We are wondering if this is a good price for Washington? We don't want any extra features like pinstriping or mudflaps, but it seems like they want to try and add this in. The price above doesn't include any extras. Thanks for anybody who can help!

Just curious- what is the consensus on these "discount buying programs" offered by Costco, Sams Club, AAA, etc? Are they able to provide a better deal? Has anyone found them to have the lowest price?

I just tried doing costco and they called back IMMEDIATELY after I sent the request, but they would discuss nothing over the phone with me and required that I come in to find out the price, and to "discuss the Costco buying program" I said no thanks.

Am I just better off e-mailing them on my own?
  • yvqkckyvqkck Member Posts: 9
How much are the local dealers wanting? I think there are 3 local dealers in your area, see how much they are asking and compare it to what other people are paying in the mainland.

THIS IS NOT A PROTEST, I JUST BELIEVE THAT A PERSON'S NAME SHOULD BE KEPT PRIVATE. A PERSON CAN COMPLAIN AS MUCH AS THEY WISH, BUT THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED COMMON COURTESY. I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HONDA BASED ON THE INFO PROVIDED BY THIS FORUM, ALTHOUGH IT WAS MY FIRST POST, I HAD NO REASON TO POST ANYTHING ELSE.

I used SamsClub and got a quote of $200 below invoice without haggle. So it gives you a good starting point. That included splashguards and tray.
  • cj31cj31 Member Posts: 21
I did the Costco program in No Va, and they quoted at invoice over the phone for an EXL w/ RES and $1000 over invoice for EXL w/ RES & NAV (plus give the $750 off - no longer available). But then I e-mailed several dealers and got better pricing. I will be buying soon, and from this site, it looks like I should be at least $1000 below for even the EXL w/ RES & NAV(not including $750 off)...or $2k below costco pricing.

    Hi Steventin,

I am in the process of making a deal with Goody Honda for 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L w/DVD System Passenger Van (No Navigation).

They would like to match the price of yours as $28,072 selling price, which includes the destination charge.

But I need the quotation or any document, which shows this price, and then they are willing to match it.

It will be a great help, if you can provide me some document or quotation, which you got from Goody Honda, they will give me the same price.

BTW now they are quoting me $28,900 as the best price.

You can email me at samautobuy@yahoo.com or if you have any questions then please call me at 650-483-1145.

I will appreciate your help on this.

    Regards,
    Sam

    Engine33-

We are too looking in Washington...Eastern side though. We no doubt are going to have to drive over to the Seattle area though to get a competitive price.

My wife and I are about ready to take the leap and have one good price quote from a dealership in the Seattle area for an 07' EX-L w/RES & NAV for $32,150 and that's without driving over there...which we don't want to do unless we have a good price committment. The EX-L w/o NAV&RES price is at $28,700...so I think they are about at invoice.

I think with the supply demand, the dealerships in Washington can get away with a little higher price...we had the same issues when we bought a Pilot.

ps..Keep in touch (Engine33) and let me know if you find a better deal...we want to buy in the next 2 weeks.

Purchased May 10 2007 for 29391.15 from Precision Honda of Jasper Alabama. We went through their online service and telephone and had the OTD price before we drove the 60 miles to get there.

Does anybody have some info on OTD prices for 2007 Touring? I'm not sure if I want Nav, but if the price is right, it's worth considering. I'm in So Cal area. So to anybody around here -- please post some info.

    Thanks for your help.

Purchased EX-L without RES or NAV in Boston area on June 28 for $27,750 (including destination). We had no trouble getting quotes for $27,250, but we liked the deal we got with our trade. The dealer we used charged $300 for doc prep.

We made the mistake of first going to a well advertised dealer. They gave us a really hard time with our trade and a high price on the new car. When we got up to leave, the deal dropped by $3,250. We still walked out. The next day we read this forum and got a good idea of what others were paying. Then we emailed a number of dealers. We also looked at dealerrater.com for ratings. Reading this forum and contacting dealers by email is definitely the way to go.

OTD price $30,000 at Liberty Honda in Hartford, CT.

Price included free wheel locks and all dealer & destination fees, CT 6% sales tax, etc.

We did not have a trade-in for this purchase, and we did not finance the car.

It's a little confusing comparing this to other people's prices when they don't mention trade-ins, financing, etc, but I feel pretty good about what we paid.

Does anyone have any idea if they will be bringing back the dealer cash, or any other incentive in August?
  • fromsuv2vanfromsuv2van Member Posts: 15
I bought the 07 Odyssey EX (6/07 assembled date) this past weekend 7/13/07 for $24.9K plus tax and license. I added the wheel locks, cargo tray, and mud guards for $300 more as dealer installed options. I am from north Los Angeles. The dealer is Power Valencia Honda. According to the dealer, they gave me a rebate of $1000. I told them the $750 factory incentive expired around the independence holiday. It seemed only Power Valencia Honda, Southern California has this "incentive help" from Honda because all internet quotes that I got from the southern calif dealers are $1000 above the $24.9K price that I was quoted from Power Valencia Honda.

In May we purchased our 2007 Odyssey EX-L RES NAV in Slate Green with gray interior from Sunnyside Honda in Ohio for $32,000, out the door. I wasn't sure about a van, even with 2 kids, but man is this thing sweet.

My wife is directionaly challenged and the nav works great! No more cell phone calls from her that start with: "Where am I?"

BTW we also bought a lazy susan as an accessory as it only came with the touring model. Dropped right into the floor location. Other accessories include splash guards, all weather mats and bug shield. All bought after initial purchase, and installed by me.

I have a similiar van in my cross hairs with some alternatives--

    a) '05 Touring with DVD/NAV/36,000 miles/Great color. Price $25k. Had minor fendor-bender repaired.
    b) '06 EX-L with 16,000 miles for $26k.
    c) '07 EX with 5200 miles. Great shape. Price $25k.

Appreciate anyone's 2-cents on which looks like a better deal.

    Woodchuckie,
I requested a quote from them and never heard anything back. Sounds like you had a good experience. What was the sticker on your van?
  • oowieoowie Member Posts: 12
Not an easy choice... I think that I would go with the 06 if you want the leather, but the 05 if the DVD/Nav are more important. DVD after market are around a grand. If you know how to read a map the Nav is not needed, unless you live in a city and have no idea where you are going. The 07 would be great, but you could buy a brand new one for that price. Good Luck! All in all, buy the O6 and install a DVD at local Car Audio/Video guy after you talk them down a bit.
