Ford Edge Sticker Shock

I stopped by the local Ford dealer out of curiosity about the Edge. I was amazed, or rather, shocked. Virtually everything on the lot was $40K+, some up to $43K plus T&L ! Going to TrueCar I checked out pricing and, even there, $38K+, plus T&L. I wish Ford well but pricing $10-14K over a Subaru Outback (or several other mid-sized SUV's) is going to be a tough nut to crack.

    If you tick all the boxes - sure you'll crack $40K on an Edge.

    Do the same on the Outback and you're over $35K and you get one less gear, 30 fewer HP and probably a few other less things. And IMHO, a lower grade interior as well.

    In all honesty, I never thought I'd see an Outback in the mid 30's.

    Go compare sales of the Edge to the Outback and then let us know if it's overpriced for the market.
