Coolant Flush/Radiator leak

ammcammc Member Posts: 3
I have an 09 Malibu 2LT with about 90K. Last week took it to the dealership for a fuel system problem. They took care of that and did an oil change and recommended a coolant flush. The next day I started seeing leaks in the driveway. Took it back (2 days ago)and they assured me there wasn't a leak they could find. Today because there is snow, I could tell the fluid was obviously coolant. Took is back and the first told me the radiator was cracked, after I pushed this, they told me there was actually a leak in the bottom of the tank on the right hand side.
I find it odd that I have a coolant leak the day after they flushed my coolant. Manager insisted they would not have been anywhere near where the leak was and they could not have cause it. Is this a strange coincidence?

    ammc,
Sorry to hear about the crack in your radiator - is your dealership working with you on this?

    Hi Sarah,

I guess that depends on your definition of "working with me". He offered to replace the radiator for $885 (full price) or pull my radiator and "take it to a radiator repair shop down the street and have them eplace the tank and save me about 1/2 the price".
To me that tells me I could probably take it that shop and pay a portion of that price. I was upset because I don't think it randomly started leaking after they had it. I told him I really needed to call the husband to get his opinion. Before I finished that conversation they had replaced my coolant and he handed me my keys as I was saying I thought I needed to wait and research more.

So I personally think he had decided they weren't taking any ownership and he wanted me out of his showroom so customers wouldn't overhear my conversation.
Pretty ignorant decision and way to treat a customer with 2 vehicles at around 100k miles I think.

    I appreciate your follow up.
