Most likely what is happening is that your DCCV is starting to go. On every lincoln LS this valve goes, and when it does the service parking light starts to randomly come on. For more information on this check out the forums on lincolnvscadillac.com

Yeah my DCCV is shot. I have a new one ready to install. Had heard they might be connected, but the light hasn't come back on since I connected the battery.

I'm on that site a lot, same handle as here^^^^^^

Hello. I have a 2005 Lincoln LS V8 with about 60k miles on it and I love it, but I need my brake pads replaced. I know I can't do it myself, so I called around my area (Atlanta) to get pricing/information. Two places (other than the dealership) told me that if I did not use the Lincoln certified pads they would squeal because they are a special ceramic pad. Is this true? I really don't want to spend extra money for the same parts because they have the Lincoln name stamped on them. Thanks so much!

I personally used ceramic break pads from Advanced Auto parts, and have not had any problem with squealing. I'm not sure if that is true with the non-ceramic ones at all, but I would think so. The brakes really aren't hard to do on those cars as long as you have the correct tool to do the back ones, because the caliper piston actually has to be turned back in, besides that they are just as easy as any other car with disc brakes.

Use whatever you want. I don't believe the factory pads are ceramic.

When I bought my LS the Toyota dealer I bought it from used cheap pads that rattled and squeaked. I had the Lincoln dealer replace them (at the Toyota dealer's expense) and no problems since. I'm not sure they have to be ceramic, but I would buy quality brake pads.
