1995 Honda Accord EX Transmission Problems

1995 Accord Ex Automatic V6-- 54,000 miles. Suddenly slips into neutral while still in drive. Making godawful sounds while idling. Reverse slips too. Lurching. Can drive nicely in D-2 ! Any advice? Bought it used at 14,000 miles. No longer under warranty. Waiting for Mr. Transmission to call...

I don't think you should be driving it at all...you're just tearing it up and making the eventual repair bill perhaps more expensive. It sounds like you need a tear down and inspection....the only hope is maybe the whole thing has come loose or perhaps you have lost fluid. But with noises in neutral and slipping, it sounds pretty grim.
