Turning In Lease...extra charges

Our lease is ending in a few weeks. Not sure of we will lease another nissan. We are over about 4k miles and I'm sure they will work something out if we lease another nissan but not sure we will. How can I protect myself so when they inspect the car I don't get hit with any other charges.... wear and tear etc. later? Will there be something I sign off on at the inspection? I don't want them to come back with some bs and say oh btw we found this etc.

An inspection and report should be done before you turn the lease in. I don't have any experience with Nissan, but my Honda leases were done with an independent inspector, who printed a form off of his laptop, right at my location.. showing all lease-end charges. With BMW, the turn-in person at the dealer did the same thing..

You should never walk away from the car without a final report...
