Buy a dealership's loaner that has 1000 miles on it?
Hey everyone. I'm looking at a 2013 Civic LX Sedan (automatic) that has been the dealership's loaner car. Because it was a loaner, I am hesitant to purchase the vehicle despite a good price. I would like to hear from others what their thoughts are on the matter
Facts:
- Just over 1000 miles, all of which have been put on by customers having repairs done at the dealer.
- Remainder of 3 yr/36 and 5yr/60 warranties would transfer to me.
- Clean interior and exterior.
- Test drove the car for many miles and no issues could be found.
Would you even consider purchasing this vehicle despite the fact that it was a dealer loaner? If so, what would you pay?
Thanks.

Here's my take on this....
If you are the slightest bit afraid of this car and it sounds like you are...PASS!
The next person will likely not care and will snap it up.
There is seriously nothing to fear here but if that car happens to have the slightest problem you will wish you had bought a new one for a few more dollars.
1000 miles is NOTHING!
Can Buying a Demo Car Save You Money?
I would ask for the in-service date on the warranty. Even though it only has 1000 miles, the warranty clock could have been ticking for a year, or more.... It would suck to find out after you bought it, that you only have two years of bumper-to-bumper warranty left..
Other than that... it wouldn't bother me a bit..

It would be about 2.5 years on the b-b and 4.5 on the powertrain warranty.
Good for you, for doing your homework!
