Code P0122 - Replace Throttle Body? 2003 Jeep Liberty

Shortly after having to replace the battery in my 2003 Jeep Liberty, it recently started throwing off a P0122 code intermittingly, despite seemingly running fine. After verifying the code and without even looking under the hood, the shop I normally take my vehicles to said "Oh, that's the throttle body. We'll order a new one and install it". That'll cost about $500 with labor. Does that sound like a reasonable diagnosis? Just replace the entire throttle body? Not, CLEAN the TB and maybe replace the TPS?

It doesn't sound like a diagnosis at all actually, if they didn't test the throttle position sensor. Their "diagnosis" could be a very expensive bad guess.
