1999 CR-V Drive Light not illuminating

I noticed my Drive light was not illuminating so I switched it with the 1st Gear indicator light which does work. After switching the two, the 1st Gear illuminates normally to my surprise and the Drive light still does not illuminate when in drive (both lights are good).

What is my next step?

    You need to test the lamp receptacle for voltage in each pin--there must be a bad contact as the gear shift runs through the different positions.
