How much hp does a stock v8 Chevy Camaro put to the wheels?

I was talking to a guy at Kenny Bell and he said about 340, and if I got one of their kits it would make 500+ to the wheels. 500 would be all I need honestly, but is he right about the 340 to the wheels eventhough the motor is rated at 426?

Well he's using the standard estimated rule of multiplying the manufacturer's stated "crank" horsepower X .80 for automatic transmissions and .75 for standard transmissions.

So yeah, using that rough estimate, you'd get about 340.

In theory therefore their "kit" would have to generate 625 HP at the crank to give 500 at the rear wheels.

You'd really want to see dyno slip results for that claim.
