Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Hi Stever is the problem the moderator
It sometimes helps people to know the model since a Wrangler may be known for an issue that a JGC may not have.
Jeep grand Cherokee
The gas smell is a concern. There was a TSB out on some older ones for fuel pressure issues, but who knows. Injectors? Changed the fuel filter lately?
Which one I havernt a clue on cars mate
That's always the issue; could be an injector, or a fuel pressure issue "at the rail" or a worn sealing ring in the fuel module. It's almost always cheaper (and faster) in the long run to track down a good mechanic who can give you a diagnosis than to replace stuff without knowing the underlying problem.
Meanwhile, it may help to turn the key to ON but not crank it until you count to five or ten. If it's a fuel pressure issue, that may get the system back up to snuff and let you crank the Jeep on the first try. Often you can hear the fuel pump working when you do this.
Ok I will try thank you
You can hear the fuel pump working but the problem is still there mate
I think I would have a leak test/smoke test done on the EVAP system.
