Looking for a quiet, reliable highway vehicle
Hello,
Looking for a quiet car for highway commuting, about 60 miles roundtrip.
Quiet is very important. I can't stand loud road noise, tire noise, wind noise, it's very fatiguing to me. Reliability a close second, and safety. I'm flexible on price but not to Tesla S range.
Quiet + reliability has me leaning toward Lexus, or a Toyota Avalon. I have also liked the looks of the Chevy Impala but am skeptical of GM quality (I have only owned Toyotas and Hondas).
I don't need a big car but I am not aware of any small, quiet, reliable cars. The German cars' reliability records turns me off or an Audi A3 or A4 would appeal, also there is no Audi dealer near where live.
Thoughts? Am I overlooking a good option?

How about a Honda Accord? The Edmunds review was pretty flattering:

I had an Accord in the past, great car. One thing about Hondas is I find them not very quiet.
Honda's have that reputation although I've heard that they've been doing better with their soundproofing. Lexus still enjoys a great reputation for a quiet cabin.
thanks for the ideas. Anyone else?
